Cadw's description

At Canton Cross forming part of a good group with The Corporation PH and Canton Library.

Probably dating from early/mid C19. The post has been moved from outside Nos. 10 and 12 Llandaff Road, which formed a part of the Cardiff-Llantrisant turnpike.

Cast-iron milepost, triangular on plan. Downward pointing apex with the words 'LANDAFF 1¼'; left hand narrow vertical portion with the words 'CARDIFF 1 MILES'; right hand portion with the words 'LANTRISANT 9½ MILES'.

Included for its special historic interest as an early/mid C19 turnpike milepost.
