Cadw's description
Location
One of the associated structures in the gardens of St Fagans Castle and part of the Museum of Welsh Life.
History
C18 or earlier. A formal enclosure as an entrance to a country house is characteristic of the early C17 and part of the walling may date from that period. This wall, however, may have been rebuilt or lowered at the time of the re-modelling of the Stable Court in the 1860s.
Exterior
Retaining wall of limestone rubble with coping, about 2m in height. It forms only a dwarf wall on the garden side giving an open aspect into the Stable Court.
Reason for designation
Included as one of the structures associated with the gardens and estate of St. Fagans Castle.
