Cadw's description
Location
Situated in public park to south west of mansion.
History
Bandstand was probably installed after Parc Howard became a public park in 1912
Exterior
Early C20 bandstand of 8 cast-iron columns carrying a deep-eaved slate roof on ornate brackets. Concrete base. Each column has 3 brackets, one outward and one each side and the roof underside is flat-boarded. Cast-iron crested gutters with finials at each corner and larger apex finial to roof.
Bandstand has been modified to house an aviary and some columns are boarded in though apparently still intact; but of the original railings to each section only 4 remain. Iron columns are stamped 'Kelvin Iron Co, 48 Lime Street, London EC'.
Reason for designation
