Location
Side by side on the broad pavement at the top of the road where it curves around to face the railway station. At the extreme left of the front of the Head Post Office building.
History
G VI R, K6 type. Square red kiosk of cast-iron construction to the standard design of Giles Gilbert Scott, architect of London; these examples were manufactured by the McDowell, Stevens and Co Ltd, London and Falkirk.
Exterior
Domed roofs each with 4 lunettes containing embossed crowns over opals with modern panels, except to the two inner sides where the red lettering is retained; ventilation slits. Raised surrounds to sides and doors with marginal glazing bars to horizontal glazing.
