Cadw's description

Situated by roadside some 300m S of Rhydowen crossroads.

S end room has heavy ceiling beam and timber-lintel to broad fireplace. Earlier C19.

Small cottage in whitewashed rubble stone with slate roof and stone end stacks, capped in brick. Single storey with end-wall entry in main fireplace wall. Two small windows to front, 4-pane sashes with cambered heads and slate sills. S end wall has ledged door with stone voussoirs to head. Lean-to at rear. Small loft light on N end.

Listed as the best surviving of the small single storey end-entry cottages in the area (others being Blodeuyn, Ty Mari and Penwalken, Porthrhyd). Group value with former Smithy opposite.
