Wierickerschans. Vierkante gebastionneerde en omgrachte schans van het Nieuw-Nederlandse stelsel, gebouwd in 1673 en tot 1960 deel van de Oude Hollandse Waterlinie. Natuurstenen gebosseerde toegangspoort uit 1673 gewijzigd 1783; kruitmagazijn uit 1747-1748. Aan de noordzijde, achter de wal, twee gepleisterde paviljoens met frontons, aansluitend aan lage, langwerpige vleugels onder schilddaken, 1828-1830.

Description
Wierickerschans. Square bastioned and moated fortification of the New Dutch system, built in 1673 and until 1960 part of the Old Holland Water Line. Natural stone rusticated entrance gate from 1673 modified 1783; powder magazine from 1747-1748. On the north side, behind the rampart, two plastered pavilions with pediments, adjoining low, elongated wings under hipped roofs, 1828-1830.
