SLOT Batenburg.
Aan de noordrand van het stadje door een gracht omgeven ringburcht, herbouwd omstreeks 1600 op de grondslagen van een ouder slot, verwoest door brand in 1795 en als ruine bewaard.
Van het slot zijn overgebleven: de ringmuur met uitgekraagde spietorens, de resten van drie uitgebouwde ronde torens, onder een waarvan een kelder, alsmede het restant van het poortgebouw, geflankeerd door halfronde torens, alles opgetrokken in baksteen met mergelstenen banden.

Description
CASTLE Batenburg.
On the north edge of the town surrounded by a moat, a ring castle, rebuilt around 1600 on the foundations of an older castle, destroyed by fire in 1795 and preserved as a ruin.
Remaining from the castle are: the ring wall with corbelled spur towers, the remains of three extended round towers, under one of which a cellar, as well as the remnant of the gatehouse, flanked by semi-circular towers, all constructed in brick with band courses of marl stone.
