Koninklijk Paleis Het Loo.
Het in 1685-'86 door Jacob Roman voor Stadhouder Willem III gebouwde en in de daaropvolgende decennia afgewerkte buitenverblijf is een sinds het begin der 19e eeuw geheel witgepleisterd gebouwencomplex, gerestaureerd en met een verdieping verhoogd door C.H.Peters in 1911-1914 voor wat het Middendeel betreft. Het aan de voor- en achterzijde door middenrisalieten met frontons verlevendigde en door een schilddak bekroond corps de logis bezit aan de voorkant twee hoekpaviljoens, die door lagere hoekpaviljoens met gebogen frontons verbonden zijn met langgerekte, recht naar voren lopende zijvleugels, die het voorplein flankeren en eindigen in hoekpaviljoens met tentdaken. Rechts van het hoofdgebouw aan de parkzijde een vleugel met schilddak en gebogen fronton.
Inwendig in het corps de logis zijn van de oude, naar ontwerpen van Daniel Marot uitgevoerde inrichting bewaard: het trappenhuis met gebeeldhouwde trapleuning (1693) en kopieën door A.A.Fabri naar de oorspronkelijke wandschilderingen: de Audientiezaal op de eerste verdieping met geschilderd behang door Gerard de Lairesse en Joh.Glauber en de kleine eetzaal met plafond, stucdecoratie en marmeren schoorsteenmantel naar ontwerp van Marot. Voorts verscheidene deuromlijstingen uit de bouwtijd. In het Pruisisch Kwartier een geschilderd plafond. In het oostelijk paviljoen de kapel met inrichting uit de bouwtijd. Talrijke oude meubels, schilderijen en wandtapijten, zie Voorlopige Lijst. Van de naar ontwerp van Marot aangelegde tuinen, na 1813 in romantische landschapsstijl gewijzigd, zijn bewaard gebleven. Voor het paleis twee gebeeldhouwde sfinxen met putti en in het park beelden van stroomgoden. Voor het hek voorts twee zandstenen siervazen, eind 17e eeuw. Achter het paleis twee marmeren siervazen uit dezelfde tijd, naar ontwerp van Marot, uitgevoerd door J. Ebbelaer. In de kapel een eenklaviers huisorgel, in 1750 gemaakt door J. Bruydegom. Omstreeks 1800 voorzien van een nieuwe kas. Gerestaureerd door de fa. Leeflang te Apeldoorn in 1981.
Op het hoofdgebouw, in houten klokkenstoel, klok van G. Schimmel gemaakt in 1686. Tevens een mechanisch torenuurwerk uit het eerste kwart van de 20e eeuw van anonieme maker. Aan de zijgevel van het oostelijk paviljoen in smeedijzeren sierstoeltje een klok van een anonieme gieter uit 1732. In de Koninklijke Stallen een klok van J. Taylor gemaakt in 1909.

The country residence built in 1685-'86 by Jacob Roman for Stadhouder Willem III and completed in the following decades is a building complex entirely whitewashed since the beginning of the 19th century, restored and heightened by one storey by C.H. Peters in 1911-1914 as far as the central section is concerned. The main building, enlivened on the front and back by central risalits with pediments and crowned by a hipped roof, has two corner pavilions on the front, which are connected by lower corner pavilions with curved pediments to elongated side wings running straight forward, which flank the forecourt and end in corner pavilions with tent roofs. To the right of the main building on the park side a wing with hipped roof and curved pediment.
Internally in the main building, from the old fittings executed to designs by Daniel Marot, there are preserved: the stairwell with carved stair railing (1693) and copies by A.A. Behind the palace two marble ornamental vases from the same period, designed by Marot, executed by J. Ebbelaer. In the chapel a single-manual house organ, made in 1750 by J. Bruydegom. Provided with a new case circa 1800. Restored by the firm Leeflang in Apeldoorn in 1981.
On the main building, in wooden belfry, bell made by G. Schimmel in 1686. Also a mechanical tower clock from the first quarter of the 20th century by anonymous maker. On the side facade of the eastern pavilion in wrought-iron ornamental frame a bell by an anonymous bell-founder from 1732. In the Royal Stables a bell made by J. Taylor in 1909.
