Omschrijving
Doopsgezinde schuurkerk, de enige Doopsgezinde schuilkerk in Zeeland, gebouwd in 1636, herbouwd in 1793. Eenvoudig rechthoekig gebouw, opgetrokken uit baksteen met rondboogvensters in de lange zijden en met pannen gedekt schilddak. Inwendig gepleisterde wanden met geprofileerde houten kroonlijst, trekbalken en gestucadoord koofgewelf met enige Lodewijk XVI-lofwerk en het jaartal 1793, aan de andere korte zijde van het koofgewelf een gestucadoord lam. Aan de muur waarin de ingangspoort van de eigenlijke kerkruimte zich bevindt, is een zandstenen gevelsteen geplaatst, voorstellende een lam, waarboven een lint is gedrapeerd met opschrift: "De kerck het Lam". Het 17e eeuwse woonhuis aan de straatzijde is in 1888 vervangen door een neogotische voorbouw met torenvormig opgetrokken portaaluitbouw naar de voorgevel. De voorbouw heeft vensters met geblokte van siermozaïek voorziene spitsboogbekroningen. Puntgevel met hardstenen lijsten en sierankers. Description
Anabaptist chapel church, the only Anabaptist hidden church in Zeeland, built in 1636, rebuilt in 1793. Simple rectangular building, built of brick with round arch windows in the long sides and covered with pantiles hipped roof. Internally plastered walls with profiled wooden cornice, tie beams and stuccoed barrel vault with some Louis XVI ornament and the date 1793, on the other short side of the barrel vault a stuccoed lamb. On the wall in which the entrance portal of the actual church space is located, a sandstone facade stone is placed, depicting a lamb, above which a ribbon is draped with inscription: "De kerck het Lam". The 17th century residential house on the street side was replaced in 1888 by a neo-Gothic porch with tower-shaped projecting portal extension towards the front facade. The porch has windows with pointed arch crownings provided with blocks of decorative mosaic. Pointed gable with hardstone lists and ornamental wall anchors. The slate hipped roof of the tower-shaped portal extension has rich wrought-iron crowning and roof dormers.
