Omschrijving
In oorsprong éénlaags middeleeuws graanpakhuis uit de tweede helft van de 14e eeuw (Zwaansteeg 11) met een aanbouw (Oudegracht 229). Oorspronkelijk toegankelijk via een overbouwde gang onder het pand Oudegracht 227.
Het graanpakhuis is in het tweede kwart van de 17e eeuw aanzienlijk vergroot tot zijn huidige afmetingen. De naam 'Pandhuis' kreeg het gebouw nadat hier in 1719 een bank van lening is gevestigd. In samenhang hiermee is de oorspronkelijk oudere aanbouw Oudegracht 229, in 1764 vernieuwd, functionerend als woonhuis/kantoor bij het Pandhuis.

Description
Originally single-storey medieval grain warehouse from the second half of the 14th century (Zwaansteeg 11) with an outbuilding (Oudegracht 229). Originally accessible via a covered passage under the building Oudegracht 227.
The grain warehouse was substantially enlarged in the second quarter of the 17th century to its present dimensions. The building received the name 'Pandhuis' after a pawnbroking bank was established here in 1719. In connection with this, the originally older outbuilding Oudegracht 229 was renewed in 1764, functioning as a residence/office for the Pandhuis.
