Inleiding
GYMNASTIEKGEBOUW gebouwd in 1930, deel uitmakend van het scholencomplex "Frankendaal" en gesitueerd op de noordwestelijke hoek van het terrein.
Omschrijving
Het gymnastiekgebouw is opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond en omvat twee bouwlagen onder een overstekend schilddak met grijze pannen, waarop zich twee hoge, gemetselde schoorstenen bevinden. De bakstenen gevels zijn witgeverfd boven een basement van rode en gele baksteen en de vensters zijn voorzien van smalle stalen profielen met roedenverdeling. De zuidwesthoek van het gebouw is voorzien van een aanbouw van een bouwlaag, met aan de westzijde een gemetselde boog en aan de zuidkant drie segmentbogen op gemetselde kolommen. In deze galerij bevindt zich de ingang, met dubbele getoogde deur. De noordgevel bevat per bouwlaag tien hoge vensters. De zuidgevel bevat in het midden een verticale vensterstrook die het trappenhuis verlicht en aan weerszijden drie vierkante vensters voorzien van segmentboogvormige rollagen. In het gymnastiekgebouw bevindt zich op beide bouwlagen een gymnastieklokaal. Elk lokaal is voorzien van een door rondbogen afgescheiden smalle bergplaats voor toestellen. Op de begane grond bevinden zich aan de westzijde twee kleedkamers.

Description
The gymnasium building is erected on a rectangular plan and comprises two storeys under an overhanging hipped roof with grey tiles, on which two tall, masonry chimneys are located. The brick facades are whitewashed above a basement of red and yellow brick and the windows are fitted with narrow steel profiles with glazing bars. The southwestern corner of the building is provided with an extension of one storey, with a masonry arch on the west side and on the south side three segmental arches on masonry columns. In this gallery is the entrance, with a double arched door. The north facade contains ten tall windows per storey. The south facade contains in the middle a vertical window strip that illuminates the staircase and on either side three square windows provided with segmental arch-shaped shutters. In the gymnasium building there is on both storeys a gymnasium hall. Each hall is provided with a narrow storeroom separated by half-round arches for equipment. On the ground floor on the west side are two changing rooms.
