Inleiding
Gebouw P4 ligt vrijstaand tussen de gebouwen 12 en 20, aan de oostzijde van de oostelijke noord-zuid gerichte laan op Vrijland-Noord. De daknok is oost-west gericht. Gebouw P4 is een in 1940-1941 tot stand gekomen schuur en op macroniveau onderdeel van een grote militaire vliegveldstructuur uit de jaren 1940-1945, op mesoniveau van een ijl complex van in een rechthoekig-geometrische structuur geplaatste gebouwen, en hierin op microniveau van enige relatief solitair en in directe aansluiting op die ruimtelijke structuur geplaatste panden.
Omschrijving
Eenlaagse bakstenen SCHUUR op een rechthoekige plattegrond, onder een thans met bitumineus materiaal belegd zadeldak tussen puntgevels, met kort overstek en midden op het dak een groot onder zadeldak gelegen ventilatie- of ontluchtingskanaal. In de noordelijke langsgevel / hoofdgevel centraal een toegangsopening onder rollaag, waarin opgeklampte deur met op de punt geplaatst vierkant raampje met blauw glas; links en rechts hiervan symmetrisch twee vensteropeningen onder rollaag, waarin verdeelde ramen met blauw glas. Zuidelijke langsgevel met links een dichtgemetselde toegangsopening. Kopse gevels blind. Het interieur bestaat uit een ongedeelde ruimte, waarvan het dak wordt gedragen door spanten; beschoten kap; gecementeerde vloer; lichtblauw en wit gesausde wanden.

SCHUUR, van algemeen belang als goed herkenbaar onderdeel van een uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog stammend en door de Duitse bezetter als onderdeel van een groot militair vliegveld opgezet legerkamp, vanwege: stedenbouwkundige, krijgs- en cultuurhistorische en complex- en ensemblewaarden, die onder meer kunnen blijken uit de voor de bouwtijd kenmerkende onderdelen en details, uit de kunstmatig opgezette en sterk bij de vooraf bestaande ruimtelijke inrichting aansluitende geometrische nederzettingsstructuur en de hierbinnen tot in detaillering doorgevoerde camouflage, uit de samenhang van en met het totale militaire vliegveldconcept en de ruimtelijke hoofdlijnen en onderdelen van het kampement, en uit de onderlinge verwantschap van de hierbij toegepaste vormen.

Building P4 stands detached between buildings 12 and 20, on the eastern side of the eastern north-south oriented lane on Vrijland-Noord. The ridge runs east-west. Building P4 is a shed constructed in 1940-1941 and at macro level forms part of a large military airfield structure from the years 1940-1945, at meso level of a sparse complex of buildings arranged in a rectangular-geometric structure, and at micro level within this of some relatively solitary buildings placed in direct alignment with that spatial structure.
Description
Single-storey brick SHED on a rectangular floor plan, under a gabled roof now covered with bituminous material between pointed gables, with short eaves and in the middle of the roof a large ventilation or air-outlet duct lying under a gabled roof. In the northern long facade / main facade centrally an entrance opening under a base course, containing a clamped door with a small square window with blue glass placed at the apex; to the left and right of this symmetrically two window openings under a base course, containing divided windows with blue glass. Southern long facade with on the left a bricked-up entrance opening. End gables blind. The interior consists of an undivided space, the roof of which is borne by trusses; boarded roof truss structure; cemented floor; light blue and white painted walls.
