HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG. De historische tuin- en parkaanleg van de historische buitenplaats Eese kenmerkt zich door een sterke tweedeling, die omstreeks 1917 ontstond, toen Onnes Van Nijenrode meer in noordoostelijke richting op het oude landgoed een tweede hoofdgebouw (een houten landhuis) liet optrekken, waar een nieuwe parkaanleg in landschapsstijl omheen werd aangelegd. De zeer eenvoudige aanleg rond de oorspronkelijke havezate, die voornamelijk bestaat uit een lanenstructuur, bleef bewaard. De aanleg kenmerkt zich door de voornamelijk aan de noord- en noordoostzijde van de havezate uitgestrekte lanenstructuur (eik en kastanje), die als zodanig in de 17de, 18de en vroeg 19de eeuw tot stand is gekomen. Recht op de havezate de kleine toegangslaan (eik), die vanuit het huis tevens de zichtas vormt op de ornamentele voorgevel van het jachthuis annex boerderij "St. Hubert" (1881). De rechthoekige structuur van lanen omgeeft rechthoekige percelen bouw- en weiland. Aan de oostzijde van deze lanenstructuur een deels recht en deels flauw gebogen verbindingslaan (eik) naar de omstreeks 1917 gerealiseerde parkaanleg in landschapsstijl rond het toen gebouwde nieuwe houten landhuis. Oorspronkelijk was het terrein, waar het park werd aangelegd, opgesplitst in een kleinschalig patroon van agrarische door houtwallen omgeven percelen en kleine hakhoutbossen met Saksische boerderij, zoals op een kaart uit ca. 1900 (collectie rentmeesterskantoor Eese) zichtbaar is. De in 1917 ontworpen en in structuur nog geheel bewaarde parkaanleg in landschapsstijl kenmerkt zich door vijf ten aanzien van het huis radiaalsgewijs zich uitstrekkende doorzichten over wei- en bouwlanden, die door de gebogen zomen de gezichten vanuit het huis van een sterke perspectiefwerking voorzien. Deze perspectiefwerking is omgekeerd ook tijdens de wandeling door het bos rondom deze weilanden met gezichten op het rustieke landhuis beleefbaar. De open percelen worden door houtwallen en stroken bos omgeven. Op het weiland aan de noordzijde van het huis wordt het gezicht door een twee oude solitaire linden gebroken. Oorspronkelijk stonden vermoedelijk meer solitairen op de weilanden. Ook het huis was meer aangekleed in een landschappelijke mantel van groen (vooral naaldhout en coniferen). Direct ten westen van het huis en aan de gebogen oprijlaan een vijverpartij in landschapsstijl. De vijverpartij bij het huis, waarin een eilandje is gelegen, functioneert (van oudsher) tevens als waterreservoir bij eventuele brand. Het is niet bekend welke tuinarchitect deze aanleg in landschapsstijl heeft ontworpen.
Waardering
HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de historische buitenplaats Eese is van algemeen belang:
-als voorbeeld van een eenvoudige historische geometrische lanenstructuur met open weidegronden rondom een vroeg 17de eeuwse Overijsselse havezate;

HISTORICAL GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT. The historical garden and park layout of the historical country estate Eese is characterised by a strong division, which arose around 1917, when Onnes Van Nijenrode had a second main building (a wooden country house) constructed further to the northeast on the old estate, around which a new park layout in landscape style was created. The very simple layout around the original havezate, which consists mainly of a lane structure, was preserved. The layout is characterised by the lane structure (oak and chestnut), which extends mainly to the north and northeast of the havezate and as such came into being in the 17th, 18th and early 19th centuries. Directly onto the havezate a small access lane (oak), which from the house also forms the sight axis onto the ornamental front facade of the hunting lodge and farmhouse "St. Hubert" (1881). The rectangular lane structure surrounds rectangular parcels of building land and pasture. On the east side of this lane structure a partly straight and partly gently curved connecting lane (oak) to the landscape-style park layout realised around 1917 around the then-built new wooden country house. Originally the terrain, where the park was laid out, was divided into a small-scale pattern of agricultural parcels surrounded by hedgerows and small coppice woods with Saxon farmstead, as visible on a map from ca. 1900 (collection of the Eese estate office). The landscape-style park layout designed in 1917 and still entirely preserved in structure is characterised by five sight lines radiating in relation to the house, extending over pasture and arable lands, which by the curved edges provide the views from the house with a strong perspective effect. This perspective effect is conversely also experiential during a walk through the woodland surrounding these pastures with views onto the rustic country house. The open parcels are surrounded by hedgerows and strips of woodland. On the pasture on the north side of the house the view is broken by two old solitary lime trees. Originally presumably more solitary trees stood on the pastures. The house too was more dressed in a landscape mantle of greenery (especially coniferous trees and conifers). Directly to the west of the house and at the curved approach drive a pond section in landscape style. The pond section by the house, in which a small island is situated, functions (from old) also as a water reservoir in case of fire. It is not known which garden architect designed this landscape-style layout.
