The register's description

Omschrijving onderdeel 1.

- de uitzonderlijke gaafheid van het stalinterieur, welke een zeer grote bedrijfscultuurhistorische en interieurhistorische waarde vertegenwoordigt;

- de typologische en bouwkundige gaafheid en zeldzaamheid van de boerderij;

- de interieurhistorische waarde van de voorkamer met de uit de bouwtijd daterende schouwpartij met geprofileerde omgaande lijst en betegeling;

- de ouderdom van de boerderij (circa 1733);

Description component 1.

The KOP-ROMPBOERDERIJTJE consists of a long front house with a gabled roof and a stepped gable, which is recessed at the rear into a short, slightly higher barn with a hipped roof with owl boards. The right side of the front house is extended from the side window of the front room with a cubbing.

The facades of the front house are constructed with Frisian yellow bricks of IJssel format. The corner solution is in normal bond without bevel tiles in the header courses, but with triple bevel tiles in the stretcher courses. The masonry of the front house is whitewashed at ground level. The gabled roof has an A-shaped roof truss structure of short posts and is covered with black glazed Old Dutch tiles.

The south front facade is a stepped gable with a chimney on which the date anchor 1733. The facade is provided with lattice patterns, which are partly concealed by carved wind vanes from circa 1900. On the ground floor two sash windows (below twelve-panes, above eight-panes), furnished with shutters; at the height of the first storey two six-pane small windows (one of which is original).

In the right side facade an original sash window. To the right of it begins the cubbing, with a front door on the front and two two-light windows in the low cubbing wall.

The left side facade of the front house is, despite its not very authentic appearance, important for understanding the original construction and layout of the front house. The masonry contains nine original wall anchors. In the originally blank west wall of the front room, two windows were inserted in the second half of the twentieth century. To the left of the new windows is a bricked-up basement window recognisable from a now vanished basement which was probably situated under a bedstead wall. Directly to the left of this basement window is a former front door or coffin door which was bricked up around 1900 and replaced by a window.

The barn was rendered in stone at a later stage than the front house, probably only in the nineteenth century, but has an older reused open roof truss structure. Possibly the truss was already erected in the eighteenth century with reuse of seventeenth-century truss parts. The roof is still provided with the original traces above in the side panels and is covered with reed.

The facades of the barn section are constructed with Frisian yellow bricks (IJssel format) in bond without the use of bevel tiles at the corners. The original carved pointing is still partially present. The barn is surrounded by a painted black plinth.

Most of the frames in the barn facades are original, that is to say they were installed during the rendering in stone. In the making or installation of the windows and door frames, much reused material was used; this reuse of old frames in the business section is typical for farmers' building practice. For example, the ornamented consoles at the stable doors on the front and rear sides are probably from late nineteenth-century chimney breasts. More important is the age of some of the small windows, at least one of which is almost certainly seventeenth-century. All original small windows in the stable section were formerly shutter windows, but probably received panes with glazing bars in the early twentieth century. The right side facade has two such windows; the rear facade has from left to right first a modified double split door, then two former shutter windows and then a stable door with consoles. Next to the stable door stands in the traditional place a wooden annex with a toilet.

Not original are the windows on the left side of the barn: In the left side facade, five additional cast-iron segmental arch-shaped stable windows were installed in the late nineteenth century and in the left front of the barn a twentieth-century bedroom window with fanlight was installed.

The interior of the front house underwent major alterations around 1900 and in the twentieth century, as a result of which the original layout disappeared. The layout is as follows: the largest room of the front house is the front room - now four beam bays deep - which may originally have been smaller. Behind the front room is a small bedroom situated at the location of the vanished corridor and undercellared bedstead wall. In the cubbing are a corridor and kitchen housed. By means of a counter in the load-bearing inner wall, this kitchen has extra space and gives access to the adjacent bedroom and the rear part. The rear part of the dwelling is a twentieth-century single-storey insertion in the barn section. This rear extension has no monumental values and contains a small entrance hall, a bedroom which has a window facing east, a shower and a toilet.

Although the floor plan of the dwelling has been substantially altered, the front house interior contains original elements and building traces which may have been preserved behind woodwork. Of interior-historical value is, among other things, the fireplace in the front room with the original - before 1733 somewhat old-fashioned - heavily moulded frame. The flue is later provided with moulded boards. The tilework on the rear wall is authentic and is mainly set with stretchers of the type 'Hunt in circle; corner motif: spider' (1680-circa 1790) (A04.01.10) as described in "The Dutch Tile: Decors and Names 1570-1930". In some places this was later patched with tiles of a different type. On either side below the corners of the fireplace frame, the tile wall is provided with two vertical bands of purple tiles of the type 'central decor without frame along two diagonals' (1700-1900) (A01.12.62). The tile wall continues on either side of the fireplace. Probably behind the boarded lining under the front windows the originally continuous tiling is present. This lining is of minor importance but functions as a climate buffer between the wall and the present modern convectors.

The barn section of the small farm has two hay bays with on the right side a long section and on the left side a cow stall with dung passage. In this exceptionally well-preserved stable interior, the original wooden partition walls are still present on the high cow stall. Also remarkable is the traditional fly-repellent blue-white colour scheme. In combination with the original flooring, wall dams and the free view of the original roof truss structure and roof, this stable interior makes for an exceptionally well-preserved ensemble, from which the historical business operations are still very easily readable.

Valuation

The KOP-ROMPBOERDERIJTJE is of national importance, cultural-historical and building-historical significance and is worthy of protection on the basis of:

- the exceptional preservation of the stable interior, which represents very great business-cultural-historical and interior-historical value;

- the typological and structural preservation and rarity of the farm;

- the interior-historical value of the front room with the fireplace unit dating from the time of construction with moulded surrounding frame and tilework;

- the age of the farm (circa 1733);

- the historical and functional relationship to the bake house and the wagon shed.
