Omschrijving
Omschrijving onderdeel 1: HOOFDGEBOUW.
Het nagenoeg vierkante gebouw bestaat uit een kelderverdieping, twee bouwlagen, een mezannino en hoge schilddaken rondom. De symmetrisch opgezette voorgevel met middenrisaliet bekroond door een tympaan heeft opmerkelijke zijrisalieten. Door hun hoge schilddaken wekken zij de suggestie van hoektorens. In het tympaan is het wapen van de Hardenbroeks aangebracht.
De voordeur wordt omlijst door harstenen pilasters, bekroond met een dito tympaan. Hierin staat het jaartal van de verbouwing 1762. De vensters zijn in Empire stijl vernieuwd. De achtergevel vertoont nog geheel het aanzien van de bouw van 1789. Ook hier een middenrisaliet bekroond met tympaan. Ditmaal zijn er werkelijke hoektorens gebouwd. De vensters bezitten nog de oorspronkelijke roedeverdeling. In de zuidoostgevel is nog een belangrijk deel van het muurwerk van het middeleeuwse zaalgebouw te zien. Verder aan deze zijde een kleine uitbouw over de gehele hoogte van het huis. De zuidwestgevel vertoont eveneens nog ouder muurwerk. In het midden bevindt zich een forse trapuitbouw. De vensters zijn deels vernieuwd.
In het interieur is ten gevolge van een periode van leegstand in de eerste helft van de 20ste eeuw veel verloren gegaan. In de grote zaal aan de zuidoostzijde bevindt zich nog 19de-eeuwse betimmering en behang. In de eetzaal aan de achterzijde van het huis is in 1989 een plafondschildering aangebracht van Cornelis Troost. Deze schildering is afkomstig van een gesloopt huis op de Herengracht te Amsterdam.
Waardering
Het HOOFDGEBOUW is van algemeen belang vanwege:
- de cultuurhistorische waarde vanwege zijn ouderdom, in het bijzonder de middeleeuwse oorsprong;
- de architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege zijn 18de-eeuwse classicistische verbouwing met verwijzing (hoektorens) naar de middeleeuwse oorsprong;

Description component 1: MAIN BUILDING.
The almost square building consists of a basement storey, two storeys, a mezzanine and high hipped roofs all around. The symmetrically arranged front facade with central risalit crowned by a tympanum has remarkable side risalits. Through their high hipped roofs they suggest corner towers. In the tympanum the arms of the Hardenbroeks are displayed.
The front door is framed by ashlar pilasters, crowned with a similar tympanum. In it stands the date of the alteration 1762. The windows have been renewed in Empire style. The rear facade still entirely shows the appearance of the construction of 1789. Here too a central risalit crowned with tympanum. This time actual corner towers have been built. The windows still possess the original glazing bars. In the south-east facade a significant part of the masonry of the medieval hall building is still visible. Further on this side a small extension over the full height of the house. The south-west facade also shows earlier masonry. In the centre there is a substantial staircase projection. The windows are partly renewed.
In the interior, as a result of a period of vacancy in the first half of the 20th century, much has been lost. In the large hall on the south-east side there is still 19th-century panelling and wallpaper. In the dining room at the rear of the house a ceiling painting by Cornelis Troost was installed in 1989. This painting comes from a demolished house on the Herengracht in Amsterdam.
