Inleiding
MOLEN. De als stellingmolen uitgevoerde achtkante bovenkruier met de naam 'Keukenhofmolen' is in 1957 gebouwd als 'siermolen'. De molen werd op 4 april 1957 door de Holland-Amerikalijn aan de Keukenhof aangeboden. Bij de bouw van de molen werden het houten achtkant, het kruiwerk en de kap gebruikt van de onder Scharmer (Gr.) afgebroken poldermolen van de Rozenburgerpolder. Deze molen bestond vanaf 1892. De molen ligt op het terrein van de Keukenhof.
Omschrijving
Het staande werk van de molen bestaat uit een gemetseld bakstenen onderachtkant met daarop een grenenhouten achtkant met houten stelling en houten kap. Het bovenachtkant is tot de duisplanken bekleed met hout en daarboven bekleed met hout met daarover een bitumineuze bedekking. De kap kruit op een voeghoutenkruiwerk. De molen is voorzien van een gietijzeren bovenas en gelaste stalen roeden die zijn voorzien van het Oud-Hollandse wieksysteem. De molen heeft op de huidige locatie nooit een maaltechnische functie gekend en is qua gaande werk dan ook slechts voorzien van een koningspil met een bovenbonkelaar.
Waardering
De molen is van algemeen belang vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden welke gelegen zijn in het houten bovenachtkant, het kruiwerk en de kap als herkenbare en representatieve relicten van Groningse molenhoutbouw uit het eind van de 19e eeuw.

MILL. The octagonal top-drive mill executed as a post mill with the name 'Keukenhofmolen' was built in 1957 as a 'decorative mill'. The mill was offered to the Keukenhof by the Holland-Amerikalijn on 4 April 1957. In the construction of the mill, the wooden octagon, the slewing gear and the roof cap were used from the polder mill of the Rozenburgerpolder demolished under Scharmer (Gr.). This mill had existed since 1892. The mill is located on the grounds of the Keukenhof.
Description
The standing work of the mill consists of a mortared brick base-octagon with a pine wood octagon with wooden framework and wooden roof cap. The top-octagon is clad with wood up to the weatherboards and above that clad with wood with a bituminous covering over it. The roof cap turns on a grooved-timber slewing gear. The mill is provided with a cast-iron top shaft and welded steel rods fitted with the Old Dutch sail system.
