Inleiding
INCOMPLETE MOLEN. De achtkante spinnekop is vóór 1832 gebouwd als poldermolen voor de bemaling van de Munnikeburenpolder. De molen is in de jaren '30 van de 20e eeuw onttakeld, waarbij het wiekenkruis, de kop en het bovenste deel van het gaande werk werden verwijderd. De incomplete molen werd toen voorzien van een dieselmotor, waarmee de vijzel werd aangedreven. De dieselmotor werd in de jaren '70 van de 20e eeuw vervangen door een elektromotor. De incomplete molen heeft thans geen functie en is zichtbaar in een open polderlandschap.
Omschrijving
De incomplete molen bestaat uit de grenenhouten piramidevormige ondertoren van een achtkante spinnekop. Het ondertafelement rust op tien gemetselde klippen van gele Friese bakstenen. De incomplete molen was vroeger vermoedelijk gedekt met riet en is thans gedekt met platte en gegolfde Friese dakpannen. De ondertoren met als vorm een afgeknotte piramide is ter afdichting verlengd tot een volwaardige piramide. In de incomplete molen is nog een elektromotor aanwezig, met een gelaste stalen schroef en een betonnen schroefbak.
Waardering
De incomplete molen is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een achtkante spinnekop die in de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw is omgebouwd tot motorgemaal;
- vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als essentieel onderdeel van de ontginnings- en waterstaatkundige geschiedenis van Friesland en de plaatselijke geschiedenis;

INCOMPLETE MILL. The octagonal spindle-head mill was built before 1832 as a polder mill for draining the Munnikeburenpolder. The mill was dismantled in the 1930s, during which the sails, the head and the upper part of the gear work were removed. The incomplete mill was then provided with a diesel engine, by means of which the screw was driven. The diesel engine was replaced by an electric motor in the 1970s. The incomplete mill now has no function and is visible in an open polder landscape.
Description
The incomplete mill consists of the timber pyramid-shaped lower tower of an octagonal spindle-head mill. The lower table element rests on ten masonry pads of yellow Frisian bricks. The incomplete mill was previously presumed to be covered with thatch and is now covered with flat and corrugated Frisian roof tiles. The lower tower, with the form of a truncated pyramid, has been extended for sealing purposes to a complete pyramid. In the incomplete mill an electric motor is still present, with a welded steel screw and a concrete screw pit.
