Aan de zuidzijde van de R.K. kerk H. Mauritus (zijde Graafstraat) en aan de westzijde (Kerkewegje) loopt een keermuur van baksteen en mergel, geleed met dito steunberen, voorzien van twee hekpijlers met pyramidale bekroning en smeedijzeren, openslaand hekwerk aan het Kerkewegje en een bakstenen trap tussen mergelstenen pijlers (twee beneden aan de trap en twee boven) aan de zijde van de Graafstraat. Datering: laatste kwart van de 19de eeuw.
Waardering
De keermuur met bakstenen trap en vier hekpijlers alsook het hekwerk met -pijlers nabij de R.K. kerk gewijd aan de Heilige Mauritius vertegenwoordigen het algemeen belang op basis van:
- de ouderdom;
- de stedenbouwkundige betekenis;
- de bouwhistorische waarde zoals die o.m. tot uitdrukking komt in de toepassing van regionaal voorkomend bouwmateriaal, t.w. mergel;

On the south side of the R.C. church H. Mauritius (side of Graafstraat) and on the west side (Kerkewegje) runs a retaining wall of brick and marl, articulated with similar buttresses, provided with two gate piers with pyramidal coping and wrought-iron, opening gate work at the Kerkewegje and a brick staircase between marl stone piers (two below the staircase and two above) on the side of the Graafstraat. Dating: last quarter of the 19th century.
Valuation
The retaining wall with brick staircase and four gate piers as well as the gate work with piers near the R.C. church dedicated to Saint Mauritius represent general importance on the basis of:
- the age;
- the urban planning significance;
- the building historical value as expressed notably in the use of regionally occurring building material, namely marl;
- the constructive, functional and historical involvement with the church and as a boundary;
- the historical experience values and experiential moments embedded in and around the object.
