Inleiding
INCOMPLETE MOLEN.
De als stellingmolen uitgevoerde achtkante molen met de naam 'Hunsingo', ook wel bekend als 'molen Haitsma', is in 1855 gebouwd als koren- en pelmolen. De molen heeft op dezelfde standplaats een voorganger gehad. De molen is in 1939 onttakeld, waarbij het wiekenkruis, de kap, het houten bovenachtkant, de stelling en het bovenste deel van het gaande werk werden verwijderd. De aldus incomplete molen kreeg een mechanische aandrijving die in de jaren '60 van de 20e eeuw werd verwijderd. De incomplete molen heeft thans de bestemming van opslagruimte. De incomplete molen zal worden voorzien van het uit 1896 daterende eikenhouten bovenachtkant van de voormalige stellingmolen met de naam 'Slaghekke' uit Rijssen. Dit achtkant, dat ter plaatse thans in opslag ligt, is te Rijssen vermoedelijk al secundair gebruikt geweest. De incomplete molen ligt aan het Boterdiep, nabij een kruising van waterwegen. De molen en de directe omgeving zijn gelegen binnen het beschermde dorpsgezicht van Onderdendam.
Omschrijving
De incomplete molen bestaat uit het gemetselde bakstenen onderachtkant dat is voorzien van hoeklisenen. Het uit drie bouwlagen bestaande onderachtkant is voorzien van een plat dak. In de incomplete molen is de bintlaag van de pelzolder nog aanwezig. In gedemonteerde staat is bovengenoemd achtkant thans nog aanwezig.
Waardering
De incomplete molen is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een houten achtkante koren- en pelmolen uit het midden van de 19e eeuw;
- vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als onderdeel van de geschiedenis van de graanmaalderijen van Nederland en de industriële ontwikkeling van Groningen en de plaatselijke geschiedenis;
- vanwege ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van het beschermde dorpsgezicht van Onderdendam;
- vanwege situationele waarden betreffende zijn ligging aan het Boterdiep met een oude draaibrug en de historische gaafheid van de omgeving;
- vanwege de gaafheid van de molenbiotoop.
Het her te gebruiken houten bovenachtkant is van algemeen belang vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een houten achtkante korenmolen uit het eind van de 19e eeuw die gefunctioneerd heeft in Rijssen.

INCOMPLETE MILL.
The octagonal mill executed as a stalling mill with the name 'Hunsingo', also known as 'Haitsma mill', was built in 1855 as a grain and pearl barley mill. The mill had a predecessor at the same location. The mill was unrigged in 1939, with the wind sails, roof, wooden upper octagon, stalling and the upper part of the internal machinery removed. The thus incomplete mill received a mechanical drive which was removed in the 1960s. The incomplete mill now has the purpose of storage space. The incomplete mill is to be provided with the oak wooden upper octagon dating from 1896 of the former stalling mill with the name 'Slaghekke' from Rijssen. This octagon, which is now in storage at the location, was presumably already in secondary use in Rijssen. The incomplete mill is situated on the Boterdiep, near a crossing of waterways. The mill and its immediate surroundings are located within the protected village view of Onderdendam.
Description
The incomplete mill consists of the masoned brick lower octagon which is provided with corner pilasters. The lower octagon consisting of three storeys is provided with a flat roof. In the incomplete mill the binding joist of the pearl barley loft is still present. In disassembled state the aforementioned octagon is currently still present.
Valuation
The incomplete mill is of general interest:
- on account of construction-historical values as a recognizable and representative relic of a wooden octagonal grain and pearl barley mill from the middle of the 19th century;
- on account of cultural-historical values as part of the history of grain mills of the Netherlands and the industrial development of Groningen and local history;
- on account of ensemble values as part of the protected village view of Onderdendam;
- on account of situational values concerning its location on the Boterdiep with an old swing bridge and the historical integrity of the surroundings;
- on account of the integrity of the mill biotope.
The wooden upper octagon to be reused is of general interest on account of construction-historical values as a recognizable and representative relic of a wooden octagonal grain mill from the end of the 19th century which has functioned in Rijssen.
