Inleiding
MOLENRESTANT.
De vermoedelijk uit 1756 daterende vierkante spinnekop was ingericht als poldermolen. De molen is een keer verhoogd, oftewel gerezen, door de veldmuren hoger op te metselen, waardoor de vlucht kon worden vergroot. De molen is in 1952 onttakeld, waarbij het wiekenkruis werd verwijderd. Later werd de kop verwijderd, alsmede een deel van het gaande werk. Omstreeks 1952 werd de molen voorzien van een dieselmotor. Het molenrestant heeft thans geen functie. Het ligt aan de Saiter Petten, oostelijk van Wartena, ongeveer 500 meter ten noordwesten van de complete spinnekop 'De Ikkers'. Het molenrestant is zichtbaar in een open polderlandschap.
Omschrijving
Het molenrestant bestaat uit de relatief hoog opgemetselde, gerezen bakstenen voet en de eikenhouten piramidevormige ondertoren van een vierkante spinnekop. Het molenrestant was oorspronkelijk gedekt met dakpannen. Thans is het voorzien van horizontaal potdekselwerk van houten delen en een klein dakje. In het molenrestant is nog een dieselmotor aanwezig, met restanten van een houten schroef in een betonnen schroefbak.
Waardering
Het molenrestant is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een gerezen vierkante spinnekop die in het midden van de twintigste eeuw is omgebouwd tot motorgemaal;
- vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als essentieel onderdeel van de ontginnings- en waterstaatkundige geschiedenis van Friesland en de plaatselijke geschiedenis;
- vanwege ensemblewaarden in relatie tot de nabijgelegen spinnekop 'De Ikkers';
- vanwege situationele waarden betreffende de belendende waterlopen, de historische gaafheid van de omgeving en het open polderlandschap.

MILL REMNANT.
The square spindle-head, presumably dating from 1756, was fitted out as a polder mill. The mill was raised once, that is to say lifted, by building up the field walls higher, thereby allowing the sweep to be enlarged. The mill was dismantled in 1952, when the sail cross was removed. Later the cap was removed, as well as part of the running gear. Around 1952 the mill was fitted with a diesel motor. The mill remnant now has no function. It lies on the Saiter Petten, east of Wartena, approximately 500 metres north-west of the complete spindle-head 'De Ikkers'. The mill remnant is visible in an open polder landscape.
Description
The mill remnant consists of the relatively high built-up, raised brick base and the oak-wood pyramid-shaped lower tower of a square spindle-head.
