HOOFDGEBOUW HUIS SEVENAER, in oorsprong XVa, in XVIa, XVIIa, XIXb en XXa ingrijpend gewijzigd; sedert 1785 in het bezit van de familie Van Sevenaer; huidige aspect overwegend 19e eeuws; bakstenen gebouw op L-plattegrond; twee bouwlagen op hoge kelderverdieping met tongewelven; schilddak met grijze pannen en 5 schoorstenen en 7 dakkapellen met overhuivende schilddakjes met leien gedekt (XXa); voorgevel (noord) met onregelmatige indeling; tegen het midden een achthoekige traptoren uit 1612 met smalle vensters in toognissen, waterlijsten en tegen het bovendeel geprofileerde uitgekraagde bogen op consoles; plat dak; als vulling in een korfboognis boven een gedicht poortje een rijk gebeeldhouwde steen met alliantiewapens, 1612; ter weerszijden van de toren een ingang; de linker ingangspartij (1827) met een dubbele deur met halfrond bovenlicht, en bordestrap (12 treden) van natuursteen en eenvoudige ijzeren; bovenaan de trap een door twee Dorische zuilen geschraagd plat dak met rijk fries; rechts van de toren een tweede ingang, in 1907 ontworpen door Eduard Cuypers, die meer veranderingen aan het huis aanbracht; een ronde ingangsdeur met haakvormige bordestrap met bakstenen balustrade; belétage met achtlichtsvensters, verdieping met zeslichtsramen; in de westelijke smalle zijgevel mogelijk oorspronkelijke kloostervensters; achtergevel (zuid) heeft 9 traveeën; ramen met dezelfde roedenverdeling als de voorgevel; oostelijke gevel idem; tongewelfde kelder.

MAIN BUILDING HUIS SEVENAER, originally 15th century, substantially altered in 16th century, 17th century, second half of 19th century and 20th century; since 1785 owned by the Van Sevenaer family; present appearance predominantly 19th century; brick building on L-shaped plan; two storeys on high basement storey with barrel vaults; hipped roof with grey tiles and 5 chimneys and 7 roof dormers with projecting half-hipped roofs covered with slate (20th century); front facade (north) with irregular layout; against the centre an octagonal staircase tower from 1612 with narrow windows in recesses, drip mouldings and against the upper part profiled corbelled arches on consoles; flat roof; as filling in a basketweave arch above a narrow gateway a richly carved stone with alliance coats of arms, 1612; on either side of the tower an entrance; the left entrance section (1827) with a double door with semicircular fanlight, and stone steps (12 steps) and simple ironwork; at the top of the stairs a flat roof supported by two Doric columns with rich frieze; to the right of the tower a second entrance, designed in 1907 by Eduard Cuypers, who made further alterations to the house; a round entrance door with hook-shaped stone steps with brick balustrade; piano nobile with eight-light windows, storey with six-light windows; in the western narrow side facade possibly original cloister windows; rear facade (south) has 9 bays; windows with the same glazing bars as the front facade; eastern facade likewise; barrel-vaulted basement.
