Omschrijving
Omschrijving onderdeel 6: TOEGANGSBRUG met INRIJHEK.
De toegang tot de voorburcht wordt verleend door een bakstenen BRUG uit 1783 (zie jaartal in sluitsteen). De brug heeft drie bogen tussen pilasters en een balustrade met open (spitsboogvormig) metselwerk; aan de wegzijde is een deel halfrond uitgebouwd (draairuimte) met gebogen keermuren onder een rollaag, aan de zijde van de voorburcht een klapgedeelte (thans een vast brugdeel). Het hek bestaat uit vier forse bakstenen PIJLERS met rechthoekige spaarvelden in de schacht, beëindigd door een hardstenen dekplaat en bekroond door een lantaarn. Ter weerszijden van de toegangsbrug staan twee markante bomen (aan de kant van de Kasteellaan).

Description
Description component 6: ACCESS BRIDGE with ENTRANCE GATE.
Access to the forecastle is provided by a brick BRIDGE from 1783 (see date in keystone). The bridge has three arches between pilasters and a balustrade with open (pointed arch-shaped) masonry; on the road side a part is built out semi-circularly (turning space) with curved retaining walls under a roll moulding, on the side of the forecastle a hinged section (now a fixed bridge section). The gate consists of four stout brick PIERS with rectangular blank fields in the shaft, terminated by an ashlar coping stone and crowned by a lantern. On either side of the access bridge stand two distinctive trees (on the side of Kasteellaan).
