Omschrijving
Onderbouw van een met grijze hardsteen beklede muurtoren, gedateerd in de eerste helft of het midden van de 16e eeuw, uit archiefbronnen bekend als de Visserstoren. De doorsnede van de toren bedraagt 11 a 12 meter, het muurwerk is circa 4 meter dik. In of omstreeks 1966 is de hardstenen bekleding van de Visserstoren met enkele lagen opgemetseld tot circa een meter boven straatpeil. De met grijze hardsteen beklede 18e-eeuwse kademuur aan de oostzijde van de Roer is koud tegen de torenwand gemetseld.

Description
Substructure of a wall tower clad in grey hard stone, dated to the first half or the middle of the 16th century, known from archival sources as the Visserstoren. The diameter of the tower is 11 to 12 metres, the masonry is approximately 4 metres thick. In or around 1966 the hard stone cladding of the Visserstoren was built up with several layers to approximately one metre above street level. The 18th-century quay wall clad in grey hard stone on the east side of the Roer is laid cold against the tower wall.
Valuation
The Visserstoren with quay wall at the Roerkade and Looskade in Roermond represents a matter of general interest on the basis of:

- the significance for the history of fortification construction, particularly regarding rarity;
