Inleiding
De stadsmuur met de Spoelpoort uit de 14e eeuw aan het noordelijke deel van de Wilhelminasingel te Roermond, onderdeel uitmakend van de middeleeuwse vesting van de stad Roermond, staat binnen de grens van het beschermde stadsgezicht Roermond.
Omschrijving.
Onder het maaiveld liggen restanten van de middeleeuwse stadsmuur alsook van de Spoelpoort. De restanten zijn hoofdzakelijk in baksteen uitgevoerd en werden in de 14e eeuw op een natuurlijke verhoging, de oeverwal van een voormalige Roerarm, opgetrokken.

The city wall with the Spoelpoort from the 14th century at the northern part of the Wilhelminasingel at Roermond, forming part of the medieval fortress of the city of Roermond, lies within the boundary of the protected townscape Roermond.

Beneath the ground level lie remains of the medieval city wall as well as of the Spoelpoort. The remains are executed mainly in brick and were constructed in the 14th century on a natural elevation, the river bank of a former Roer arm.
