Inleiding
Halverwege de negentiende eeuw, als IJSLOPERSCHUUR ('s LANDS MAGAZIJN) gebouwde opstal op het toenmalige eiland Schokland. Het verplaatsbare houten huisje diende als onderkomen voor de zogenaamde ijsloper. Dit was een boot waaronder glijders waren bevestigd, zodat deze als een slee over het ijs kon worden getrokken. Met de ijsloper werden vooral goederen van het vasteland naar Schokland vervoerd als de Zuiderzee bevroren was, maar ook konden zodoende zieken worden vervoerd. Tegenwoordig is de schuur in gebruik als bergruimte bij het Museum Schokland op de voormalige woonterp Middelbuurt, waar het zich ook oorspronkelijk bevond.
Omschrijving
Vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond, uit liggende planken opgetrokken schuur onder een met bouletpannen gedekt zadeldak met een eveneens met pannen gedekte vorst. Dakgoten van gietijzer rustend op smeedijzeren gootklamen. De schuur staat op een onderbouw van houten balken, waardoor deze verplaatsbaar was (en is). Voorste kopgevel met rechtgesloten, opgeklampte dubbele inrijdeur. Geveltop met voorschot van staande planken en geprofileerde windveren. Blinde linker langsgevel voorzien van twee ijzeren haken. Eveneens blinde achterste kopgevel met aan de geveltop een voorschot en windveren als die aan de voorste kopgevel. Rechter langsgevels met twee rechtgesloten vensters voorzien van kruisramen met drieruits bovenramen. Het eenvoudige inwendige bestaat uit een enkele ruimte en bezit geen bijzondere elementen.

Midway through the nineteenth century, an ICE-RUNNER SHED ('NATIONAL STOREHOUSE') building was constructed on the then island of Schokland. The movable wooden little house served as accommodation for the so-called ice-runner. This was a boat under which runners were attached, so that it could be pulled like a sledge across the ice. With the ice-runner, goods were especially transported from the mainland to Schokland when the Zuiderzee was frozen, but the sick could also be transported in this way.
