Omschrijving
Woonhuis, vanwege het zich daarin bevindende beschilderde balkenplafond. De schildering, op de plankdelen tussen de balken, dateert uit de tweede helft van de zestiende eeuw en bevat florale motieven. Oorspronkelijk bevond de schildering zich in de achterkamer. Het plafond is in de nieuwbouw ongeveer op deze plek hergeplaatst.
Waardering
Het plafond is van algemeen belang. Het plafond is uiterst zeldzaam. Het enige bekende plafond waarmee dit vergeleken kan worden is een plafond in de St. Annenstraat 12 te Amsterdam. Beide plafonds behoren samen met nog enkele andere interieuronderdelen in de Amsterdamse binnenstad, tot het tastbare bewijs dat ondanks de tachtigjarige oorlog het politieke en economische klimaat in Amsterdam dergelijke kostbare interieurdecoraties toeliet. Deze decoraties zijn te beschouwen als een opmaat voor de rijke interieurdecoraties van de Gouden Eeuw.

Residence, on account of the painted ceiling beams contained within it. The painting, on the plank sections between the beams, dates from the second half of the sixteenth century and contains floral motifs. Originally the painting was located in the back room. The ceiling was relocated in the new construction approximately at this location.
Valuation
The ceiling is of general importance. The ceiling is extremely rare. The only known ceiling with which this can be compared is a ceiling at St. Annenstraat 12 in Amsterdam. Both ceilings, together with several other interior components in the Amsterdam city centre, form part of the tangible evidence that despite the Eighty Years' War the political and economic climate in Amsterdam permitted such costly interior decorations. These decorations can be regarded as a prelude to the rich interior decorations of the Golden Age.
