Inleiding.
Met elementen van het Eclecticisme in 1898 gebouwde directievilla met kantoor van de in 1999-2000 gesloopte Mouterij Aurora. Het woonhuis werd gebouwd voor de stichter van de fabriek dhr. S. Mickina. Het mouterijgebouw was direct achter het woonhuis gesitueerd. De villa is markant gesitueerd nabij het voormalige spooremplacement van Gennep langs een belangrijke invalsweg van het stadje. Het pand is aan de achtergevel voorzien van een aanbouw in een bouwlaag met plat dak. Aan de linkerzijgevel bevindt zich een aangebouwde serre met daarachter het voormalige kantoorgedeelte.
Omschrijving.
De directievilla heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond, telt twee bouwlagen en wordt afgedekt met een mansardedak met bitumen. Het toegepaste bouwmateriaal is baksteen en natuursteen. Rechthoekige houten vensters en deuren met bovenlichten. Hardstenen dorpelstenen. Aan benedenzijde van de vensters in de eerste en tweede bouwlaag een doorlopende hardstenen dorpel. Aan de bovenzijde van de vensters en de deur een segmentboogvormig vulstuk met gestucte aanzet- en sluitstenen. Symmetrische indeling voorgevel. Hardstenen plint. Authentieke houten voordeur met hardstenen treden. Middendeel voorgevel risalerend en uitlopend in een topgevelachtige dakkapel. Dakkapel met kleine klauwstukken en bekroond met schelpmotief en pinakel. Aan weerszijden van de dakkapel een oeil de boeuf-venster. Vrijwel blinde rechterzijgevel met in de eerste bouwlaag een rechthoekig venster en in de tweede bouwlaag een groot rechthoekig vlak voor de naamaanduiding. Aan de linkerzijgevel een aanbouw in een bouwlaag van een houten serre met plat dak. Deze serre heeft een bakstenen basement met hierop een houten opbouw. Basement met hardstenen plint en vensterdorpel. Bovenlichten serrevensters met kleine rondbogen en geornamenteerde tussenstijlen. In het verlengde van de serre een aanbouw in een bouwlaag met plat dak. Aan de linkerzijde van de achtergevel een uitbouw in een bouwlaag met plat dak. In de linkerzijgevel van deze uitbouw een rechthoekige deur en venster. In het middendeel van de achtergevel een rechthoekige houten deur. Aan de rechterzijde van deze deur een rechthoekig venster. In de tweede bouwlaag van de achtergevel drie rechthoekige houten vensters. Van het interieur van de villa is onder meer het volgende van belang. De authentieke structuur van het interieur is vrijwel in tact hetgeen blijkt uit de situering van gang, trappenhuis en kamers. Gangvloer met zwarte tegels en kleine witte marmer tegeltjes. In de woonkamer links van de gang een plafondornament in stucwerk en een haardlijst in zwarte marmer; vanuit deze kamer hoge schuifdeuren naar de serre; serre met twee plafondornamenten in stucwerk en kooflijsten. In de eetkamer rechts van de gang eveneens een plafondornament in stucwerk en een haardlijst in zwarte marmer.
Waardering.
De voormalige directeursvilla is van algemeen belang. De villa heeft architectuurhistorische en typologische waarde als goed voorbeeld van een directeurswoning uit het laatste decennium van de 19de eeuw en valt op door enkele kenmerkende details in ex- en interieur. De villa heeft vanwege de functie, historie en situering ensemblewaarde en speelt vanwege de stedenbouwkundig markante ligging een beeldbepalende rol. De villa is architectuurhistorische en bezit cultuurhistorische zeldzaamheid op basis van de hoge mate van gaafheid van ex- en interieur.

On the left side gable an extension in one storey of a wooden conservatory with flat roof. This conservatory has a brick base with a wooden superstructure. Base with ashlar plinth and window sill. Fanlights of conservatory windows with small semicircular arches and ornamented mullions. In the extension of the conservatory an extension in one storey with flat roof. On the left side of the rear facade an extension in one storey with flat roof. In the left side gable of this extension a rectangular door and window. In the middle section of the rear facade a rectangular wooden door. To the right of this door a rectangular window. In the second storey of the rear facade three rectangular wooden windows. Of the interior of the villa the following is of note. The authentic structure of the interior is virtually intact as evidenced by the arrangement of hallway, stairwell and rooms. Hallway floor with black tiles and small white marble tiles.
