Inleiding
De SCHUUR tegenover de boerderij Molendijk 73 te Goudswaard is gebouwd in de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw. De schuur behoort bij deze reeds eerder beschermde in oorsprong 18de eeuwse boerderij(monumentnummer 17064). De schuur is vormgegeven in een Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant. Waarschijnlijk zijn de gevels één of meerdere keren van vernieuwde gepotdekselde delen voorzien.
Omschrijving
De schuur staat tegenover de boerderij Molendijk 73 aan de oostelijke rand van de dorpskern Goudswaard. Zowel boerderij als schuur zijn op het dijkniveau gebouwd, ter voorkoming van wateroverlast. De boerderij is gebouwd op de zuidelijke talud van de oost-west georiënteerde dijk, de schuur op de westelijke talud. De noordgevel van de schuur grenst aan de geasfalteerde weg op de dijk. De schuur heeft een bijna vierkante plattegrond. De deels in het dijklichaam verzonken onderbouw is opgemetseld in ijsselformaat gele baksteen in kruisverband. De bovenbouw, ter hoogte van één bouwlaag, is opgetrokken uit gepotdekselde houten delen. Het zadeldak is gedekt met rode Hollandse pannen. De nokrichting is evenwijdig aan de dijk. De kopgevels zijn voorzien van gesneden makelaars. De asymmetrische voorgevel (oostzijde) heeft in de bovenbouw een luik en in de onderbouw een gietijzeren raampje. In de bovenbouw zijn over de gehele breedte van de gevel vier wagendeuren aangebracht, waarvan echter alleen de twee rechter deuren toegankelijk zijn voor wagens. De asymmetrische achtergevel heeft in de onderbouw een houten deur. In de bovenbouw zijn onder elkaar twee vensters aangebracht, waarvan de bovenste met kruisraam. De linker zijgevel heeft in de onderbouw twee segmentboogvormige vensters met gietijzeren raam. In het midden van de bovenbouw staat een recht gesloten zesruits-venster, geflankeerd door een klein drieruitsraampje in het westelijke deel van de gevel. De vensterloze rechter zijgevel bevat een afsluitbare luchtopening ter grootte van de potdekseldeel over een lengte van ca. 2 meter, ongeveer 1.4 meter boven de grond en plusminus 2 meter uit de oostgevel.
Waardering
De schuur is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische, de architectuurhistorische en de ensemblewaarde.

The BARN opposite the farmstead Molendijk 73 at Goudswaard was built in the second half of the nineteenth century. The barn belongs to this already previously protected originally 18th-century farmstead (monument number 17064). The barn is designed in a Craftsman-traditional building style. The gables have probably been furnished one or more times with renewed roughcast-covered sections.
Description
The barn stands opposite the farmstead Molendijk 73 at the eastern edge of the village centre of Goudswaard. Both farmstead and barn are built at the dike level, in order to prevent waterlogging. The farmstead is built on the southern slope of the east-west oriented dike, the barn on the western slope. The north gable of the barn borders the asphalted road on the dike. The barn has an almost square ground plan. The substructure, partly sunken into the dike body, is laid in yellow brick of Ijssel format in cross bond. The superstructure, at the height of one storey, is constructed of roughcast-covered wooden sections. The gabled roof is covered with red Dutch tiles. The ridge direction is parallel to the dike. The end gables are furnished with cut mouldings. The asymmetrical front gable (east side) has in the superstructure a shutter and in the substructure a cast-iron window. In the superstructure four wagon doors have been installed across the full width of the gable, of which however only the two righthand doors are accessible for wagons. The asymmetrical rear gable has in the substructure a wooden door. In the superstructure two windows are installed one above the other, of which the upper one has a cross window. The left side gable has in the substructure two segmental-arched windows with cast-iron frame. In the middle of the superstructure stands a straight closed six-paned window, flanked by a small three-paned window in the western part of the gable. The windowless right side gable contains a closable air opening the size of the roughcast-covered section over a length of approximately 2 metres, approximately 1.4 metres above ground and approximately 2 metres from the east gable.

The barn is of general importance by reason of its cultural-historical, architectural-historical and ensemble value.
