Inleiding
LOGE gebouwd in 1885 in een aan het Classicisme verwante stijl, na de verbouw van een bestaand, ouder pand in opdracht van het vrijmetselaarsgilde Orde en Vlijt. Tijdens en na de oorlog had het pand verschillende gebruikers waarna het in 1955, na een grondige verbouwing door de Gorinchemse architect Bauke van der Zijpp, weer als loge gebruikt werd. Het pand maakt onderdeel uit van de gesloten gevelwand aan de Molenstraat en ligt in het beschermde stadsgezicht van Gorinchem.
Omschrijving
Tweelaags, rechthoekig pand opgetrokken in rode baksteen (staand verband) onder een met gesmoorde Hollandse pannen gedekt schilddak.
Symmetrische voorgevel (west) met hoekrisalieten gemarkeerd door blokpilasters en afgesloten door frontons. In de beide tympanen symbolen van de vrijmetselarij. De gevel wordt geleed door een gepleisterde cordonlijst en afgesloten door een kroonlijst met gepleisterd fries.
De zesruits schuifvensters van het pand bevinden zich onder getoogde strekken waarvan de sluitsteen een gepleisterde diamantkop heeft.
In het linker risaliet is de entree geplaatst die bestaat uit een paneeldeur onder een bovenlicht. Op de begane grond verder twee vensters in het teruggeplaatste middendeel en een venster in het rechter risaliet. Boven de vensters in de beide risalieten is een gepleisterd veld aangebracht. Op de verdieping in de beide risalieten één venster waaronder twee vlaggenmasten bevestigd zijn. In het middelste bouwdeel zijn twee vensters geplaatst.
Achtergevel (oost) met op de begane grond onder meer twee dubbele terrasdeuren met vensters en paneelinvulling onder een tweeruits bovenlicht. Op de verdieping smalle staande vensters met ladderroeden.
INTERIEUR. Vermeldenswaardig is onder meer de tempel met kooflijst, een kroonlijst op consoles en pilasters.

Introduction
LODGE built in 1885 in a style related to Classicism, following the conversion of an existing, older property on behalf of the freemasons' guild Orde en Vlijt. During and after the war the property had various users after which in 1955, following a thorough renovation by Gorinchem architect Bauke van der Zijpp, it was used as a lodge again. The property forms part of the closed facade wall on the Molenstraat and is situated in the protected townscape of Gorinchem.
Description
Two-storey, rectangular property erected in red brick (stretcher bond) under a hipped roof covered with Dutch tiles.
Symmetrical front facade (west) with corner risalits marked by block pilasters and terminated by pediments. In both tympana symbols of freemasonry. The facade is articulated by a plastered band course and terminated by a cornice with plastered frieze.
The six-light sash windows of the property are located below arched openings of which the voussoir has a plastered diamond point.
In the left risalit the entrance is placed which consists of a panelled door below a fanlight. On the ground floor further two windows in the recessed central section and a window in the right risalit. Above the windows in both risalits a plastered field is provided. On the upper storey in both risalits one window below which two flag staffs are attached. In the central building section two windows are placed.
Rear facade (east) with on the ground floor among others two double terrace doors with windows and panel infill below a two-light fanlight. On the upper storey narrow vertical windows with ladder bars.
INTERIOR. Notable among others is the temple with moulded cornice, a cornice on consoles and pilasters.
