Inleiding
PAND uit de 18de eeuw met WINKELPUI uit 1876. Het in een aan het Classicisme verwante stijl gebouwde pand ligt binnen het beschermde gezicht, aan een van de belangrijkste winkelstraten van Gorinchem en maakt onderdeel uit van de gesloten gevelwand. De pui is vormgegeven met elementen uit de Neo-Renaissance. Oorspronkelijk was de pui voorzien van twee deuren. In 1936 werd een ervan vervangen door een venster.
Omschrijving
Rechthoekig, drie bouwlagen tellend pand opgetrokken in rode baksteen met een gepleisterde voorgevel voorzien van schijnvoegen. Het dubbele zadeldak met zakgoot is gedekt met gesmoorde en enkele rode Hollandse pannen.
De voorgevel (zuid) heeft over de hele breedte een vijfdelige pui verdeeld door gekoppelde, geornamenteerde, gietijzeren kolommen. Deze hebben composietkapitelen en zijn geplaatst op gecanelleerde, hardstenen basementen die onderdeel uitmaken van de hardstenen plint met waterlijst. De vijf muuropeningen worden afgesloten door gekoppelde schouderbogen waarop de decoratief bewerkte, stalen puibalk rust. De pui wordt afgesloten door een houten kroonlijst met eierlijst. De dubbele deur met panelen heeft een getordeerde middenstijl en een eveneens getordeerd kalf. Achter de vier etalagevensters zijn etalagekasten geplaatst. Op de eerste verdieping met vijf T-vensters, tweede verdieping met kleinere draaivensters. De gevel wordt afgesloten door een kroonlijst. Boven deze gevel zijn twee dakkapellen met vierruits schuifvensters en vleugelstukken geplaatst.
De achtergevel (noord) is van ongepleisterde rode baksteen met een trasraam, afgesloten door een rollaag. Grote vernieuwde deur en deur met negenruits venster en bovenlicht. Op de eerste en tweede verdieping zijn negenruits vensters geplaatst.

BUILDING from the 18th century with SHOP FRONTAGE from 1876. The building erected in a style related to Classicism is situated within the protected townscape, on one of the most important shopping streets of Gorinchem and forms part of the closed facade wall. The frontage is designed with elements from Neo-Renaissance. Originally the frontage was provided with two doors. In 1936 one of them was replaced by a window.
Description
Rectangular, three-storey building constructed in red brick with a plastered front facade provided with false joints. The double gabled roof with valley gutter is covered with smothered and individual red Dutch tiles.
The front facade (south) has across its entire width a five-part frontage subdivided by coupled, ornamented, cast-iron columns. These have Composite capitals and are placed on fluted, hardstone bases which form part of the hardstone plinth with drip moulding. The five wall openings are closed off by coupled shoulder arches on which the decoratively worked steel shopfront beam rests. The frontage is closed off by a wooden cornice with egg moulding. The double door with panels has a twisted central stile and an equally twisted rail. Behind the four shop windows display cabinets are placed. On the first floor five T-windows, second floor with smaller casement windows. The facade is finished with a cornice. Above this facade two roof dormers with four-pane sash windows and wing pieces are positioned.
The rear facade (north) is of unplastered red brick with a trash window, closed off by a fillet course. Large renewed door and door with nine-pane window and fanlight. On the first and second floors nine-pane windows are positioned.
