Omschrijving
Huis met lijstgevel uit het midden van de 18e eeuw. WINKELPUI uit 1902 aangebracht voor een pand uit 1735 dat reeds als rijksmonument geregistreerd is. De pui is in Eclectische trant vormgegeven met elementen uit het Classicisme, de Renaissance en de Art Nouveau.
Het binnen het beschermde stadsgezicht gelegen pand maakt onderdeel uit van de gesloten gevelwand aan de Appeldijk, de oostkade van de Lingehaven. De diverse pakhuizen en de winkelpanden herinneren aan de vroeger haven- en handelsfunctie van de stad.
Omschrijving
Huis met rijke Lodewijk XIV-decoratie rond het middenvenster van de verdieping. Gesneden Lodewijk XIV-consoles onder de kroonlijst. Getoogde vensters met geprofileerde vensterdorpels. Breedte vijf vensterassen.
In de achtergevel een deur met Lodewijk XV-snijraam. Inwendig: stucwerk in gang, trappenhuis en lichtkoepel; diverse schoorsteenmantels en betimmeringen, alles in Lodewijk XIV-vormen.
De symmetrische winkelpui over de volle breedte van het pand is geplaatst op een hardstenen plint met waterlijst tussen hoekpilasters van rode strengperssteen. Tussen de hardstenen kapitelen van de pilasters is een houten kroonlijst geplaatst.
Centraal geplaatste entree binnen een portiek met een hardstenen stoep. De paneeldeur met sierrooster is gevat in een hoofdgestel onder een hoog bovenlicht. De portiek wordt geflankeerd door gietijzeren, geornamenteerde zuilen met composietkapitelen. De beide grote, gebogen etalagevensters worden afgesloten door bovenlichten met een verticale en deels gebogen roedeverdeling. Achter de etalages zijn hoge etalagekasten geplaatst.
Waardering
Woonhuis uit het midden van de 18e eeuw met winkelpui uit 1902 van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een rijk geornamenteerde pui voor een monumentaal pand uit 1735.

Description
House with cornice-topped facade from the middle of the 18th century. SHOP WINDOW installed in 1902 for a building from 1735 that is already registered as a national monument. The shop window is designed in Eclectic style with elements from Classicism, the Renaissance and Art Nouveau.

Description
House with rich Louis XIV decoration around the middle window of the first floor. Carved Louis XIV consoles beneath the cornice. Arched windows with profiled window sills. Width of five window bays.
In the rear facade a door with Louis XV carved frame. Interior: stucco work in hallway, stairwell and skylight; various chimneypieces and woodwork, all in Louis XIV forms.
The symmetrical shop window across the full width of the building is placed on a hard stone plinth with drip moulding between corner pilasters of red pressed brick. Between the hard stone capitals of the pilasters a wooden cornice has been placed.
Centrally positioned entrance within a portico with a hard stone step. The panel door with ornamental grille is set in a main frame beneath a high fanlight. The portico is flanked by cast-iron, ornamented columns with composite capitals. The two large curved shop windows are closed off by fanlights with vertical and partly curved glazing bars. Behind the shop windows are tall display cabinets placed.
Valuation
Dwelling house from the middle of the 18th century with shop window from 1902 of general importance because of its cultural and architectural-historical value as an example of a richly ornamented shop window for a monumental building from 1735.
The building is a distinctive feature situated on the Appeldijk in the historical centre of Gorinchem.
