Omschrijving onderdeel 2:
PARKAANLEG, bestaande uit a. moestuin; b. wandelbos met stuw in de Rougebeek of Blankwaterlossing; c. elzenbroekbosje met een rij populieren; d. voorplein en erf; e. voormalige karpervijver.
ad a.: de moestuin ligt op het eiland ten oosten van de kasteelboerderij en is alleen toegankelijk via een poort in de muur, die de binnenplaats afsluit; ook vanuit het huis kan de tuin betreden worden; aan noord-, oost- en zuidzijde wordt de tuin begrensd door de gracht. Aan de zuidzijde van de gracht loopt een herkenbaar dijklichaam waarop een "laantje" met beukenbeplanting. De tuin is door een padenkruis in vier compartimenten verdeeld, waarschijnlijk daterend uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw; van oudere beplantingen resteren o.m. twee perenbomen enkele fruitbomen en oude buxushaag langs het middenpad; vlak bij het huis staat een markante hoge spar. De paden zijn niet verhard. Tussen kasteelboerderij en moestuin liep een (inmiddels gedempte) gracht terwijl de poorttoegang naar de moestuin van een (inmiddels verdwenen) ophaalbrug was voorzien. Het bakstenen schuurtje midden in de tuin behoort niet tot de beschermde onderdelen, hetzelfde geldt voor het houten tuinhuis uit 1990.
ad b.: het wandelbos, "doolhof" genoemd, ligt aan de noordkant van de Raaystraat op het punt waar deze straat via een flauwe bocht overgaat in de weg naar Maalbroek; het is ongeveer 1.5 hectare groot en is waarschijnlijk in de eerste helft van de 19de eeuw aangelegd; een eenvoudig rondgaand padenpatroon en een drietand zijn nog vaag te herkennen. Er staat voornamelijk opgaand oud loofhout, waaronder eik, beuk, acacia, berk, linde, tamme kastanje en paardekastanje. Fraai geboomte op de steilrand wekt de indruk van een laanbeplanting. Door het bos stroomt de Rougebeek of Blankwaterlossing, deze waterloop met stuw voorziet de gracht van de historische buitenplaats Zuidewijk Spick van water. De waterscheiding tussen Roermond (zuid) en Swalmen (noord) ligt op deze plaats. Er is enige geaccidenteerdheid en op de overgang naar de oostelijk en hoger gelegen es is een steilrand van enkele meters.
ad c.: het elzenbroekbosje met een rij populieren behoort strikt genomen niet tot de parkaanleg; het is gerangschikt als overgang tussen het wandelbos en de rest van het complex. Het betreft een moerassig gebiedje van ongeveer 1 ha. beplant met elzen waartussen enkele oude bomen herkenbaar zijn die mogelijk deel hebben uitgemaakt van een laantje langs een (inmiddels verdwenen) dam. Het elzenbroekbosje met oude bomen ligt direct ten oosten van de moestuin buiten de gracht, in de oksel van de reeds hierboven genoemde flauwe bocht in de weg en wordt doorsneden met enkele rechte waterlopen.
ad d.: het voorplein en erf liggen ten westen van de kasteelboerderij; aan de noordzijde wordt het geheel begrensd door de noordelijke poot van een L-vormig stuk gracht langs de Raaystraat, aan de westzijde door de westpoot van deze gracht en aan de zuidkant door de boerderij en de remise (zie onderdeel 3). Vanaf de Raaystraat betreedt men het voorplein via een dam; de poort op de dam (twee bakstenen pijlers) dateert uit 1964 en valt derhalve buiten de bescherming. Het voorplein heeft een puinverharding. Het erf heeft deels een moderne tuininvulling.
ad e.: de voormalige karpervijver ligt ten noord-oosten van het hoofdgebouw en wel ten oosten van de weg met de naam Boven Boukoul, ten noorden van de Raaystraat en wordt aan de oostzijde begrensd door een in noord-zuidrichting lopend dijklichaam. De voormalige karpervijver dateert in oorsprong uit circa 1800 en werd omstreeks het jaar 1900 gedempt.
Waardering
De PARKAANLEG van de historische buitenplaats Zuidewijk Spick vertegenwoordigt het algemeen belang wegens:
- de ouderdom;
- de oorspronkelijke moestuinindeling;
- de rudimenten van de voormalige karpervijver;
- de landschappelijk-visuele waarden en - als wezenlijk cultuurhistorisch onderdeel van het complex en - wegens de historische belevings- en ervaringswaarden die in de parkaanleg besloten liggen.

ad a.: the vegetable garden is situated on the island to the east of the castle farm and is only accessible via a gate in the wall which closes off the courtyard; the garden can also be entered from the house; on the north, east and south sides the garden is bounded by the moat. On the south side of the moat runs a recognizable dike body on which a "lane" with beech planting is located. The garden is divided into four compartments by a path cross, probably dating from the second half of the 19th century; of older plantings there remain among others two pear trees, several fruit trees and an old box hedge along the central path; close to the house stands a striking tall spruce. The paths are unpaved. Between the castle farm and vegetable garden ran a (now filled-in) moat while the gate access to the vegetable garden was equipped with a (now disappeared) drawbridge. The brick shed in the middle of the garden does not form part of the protected components, the same applies to the wooden garden house from 1990.
ad b.: the woodland walk, called "labyrinth", lies on the north side of Raaystraat at the point where this street passes via a gentle bend into the road to Maalbroek; it is approximately 1.5 hectares in size and was probably laid out in the first half of the 19th century; a simple circular path pattern and a trident are still faintly recognizable. It is predominantly planted with mature old deciduous timber, including oak, beech, acacia, birch, linden, sweet chestnut and horse chestnut. Fine tree planting on the steep edge creates the impression of an avenue planting. The Rougebeek or Blankwaterlossing flows through the wood, this waterway with weir supplies the moat of the historic country estate Zuidewijk Spick with water. The watershed between Roermond (south) and Swalmen (north) is located at this point. There is some unevenness and at the transition to the eastern and higher lying sand plain is a steep edge of several metres.
ad c.: the alder swamp woodland with a row of poplars strictly speaking does not form part of the park layout; it is classified as a transition between the woodland walk and the rest of the complex. ad d.: the forecourt and yard lie to the west of the castle farm; on the north side the whole is bounded by the northern arm of an L-shaped section of moat along Raaystraat, on the west side by the western arm of this moat and on the south by the farm and the coach house (see component 3). From Raaystraat the forecourt is entered via a dam; the gate on the dam (two brick pillars) dates from 1964 and therefore falls outside the protection. The forecourt has a rubble surface. The yard is partly furnished with modern garden design.
ad e.: the former carp pond lies to the north-east of the main building, namely to the east of the road named Boven Boukoul, to the north of Raaystraat and is bounded on the east side by a dike body running in a north-south direction. The former carp pond dates in origin from approximately 1800 and was filled in around the year 1900.
