Omschrijving

Description

FARM De Haverkamp is situated somewhat to the northeast of the castle and was rebuilt after a fire in 1913. The farm has an unusual shape determined by an H-shaped front house and a rectangular rear house that appears to be placed loosely against the front house. All facades of the farm are plastered and whitewashed. Around the building is a surrounding, plastered plinth. The front house consists of two projecting sections, each with a gabled roof. Between them is a slightly recessed section with a transverse roof and a plastered chimney on the ridge. The roofs are covered with red Old Dutch tiles and fitted with gutters and profiled wind braces at the location of the projections. The rear house is placed against the front house but has its own gabled roof and two gable tops. This gabled roof also has red Old Dutch tiles. The wooden wind braces on the rear side have a gable top mark.

The FRONT FACADE has a symmetrical layout. Both projections each contain an arched entrance door with above it, at the attic level, a double six-paned window with a sloping sill and a line indicated in the plasterwork. The windows are fitted with shutters in the colours of Gelders Landschap. The recessed middle section of the front house has two 'cross windows' each with two six-paned fanlights and two underframes executed as tilt windows, with shutters.

The LEFT SIDE FACADE of the front house contains two four-paned tilt windows with sloping sills and lines indicated in the plasterwork. The side facade of the rear house has two arched window openings with an iron six-paned glazing. Between both windows is a square stable shutter. In the corner between front and rear house is a small extension under a half-hipped roof. This extension has a small window.

The REAR FACADES of both projections of the front house have at the attic level a four-paned tilt window as mentioned. In the plinth is at each side a two-paned cellar window. The symmetrically arranged facade of the rear house has a basket arch-shaped half-door opening with the construction date of the farm in the keystone. On either side of the half-door opening are a round iron stable window and a round arch-shaped closed stable door. In the gable top is a rectangular hayloft shutter.

The RIGHT SIDE FACADE of the front house contains two four-paned tilt windows with sloping sills and lines indicated in the plasterwork. The side facade of the rear house has two arched window openings with an iron six-paned glazing. Between both windows is a square stable shutter. In the corner between front and rear house is a small extension under a half-hipped roof. This extension has a small window.

The INTERIOR of the farm still has the original spatial layout. The front house is divided along the central axis and has an identical layout on both sides of the wall. Both dwellings are internally connected by means of a door. The original wooden chimney mantels, some cupboards and the upper rooms are still present.

Valuation

- Of architectural-historical value as an exemplary example of an early twentieth-century double farm on an older building site. Despite the simple forms, the building stands out due to aesthetic qualities, well-proportioned forms and special detailing in design and material use. The farm is of typological value because the design and layout deviate from the regular farm typology of this time. The front house was originally double-occupied and the rear house was used jointly.

- Of urban planning value, situated on an unmade path running from the Staverdenseweg to the Allee. From the Staverdenseweg the building is clearly visible and notably present. The farm forms a characteristic and original component in this historically developed and landscape-significant environment on the Staverden estate and is important for the preservation of this situation. The various complex components have mutual ensemble value.

- Of cultural-historical value due to the function and location of the complex, which is connected to the history of the Staverden estate.
