Inleiding
Voormalige WEEGBRUG met bijbehorend WEEGHUISJE, vermoedelijk gebouwd in 1929. De brug met weeghuisje zijn gelegen aan de noordwestzijde van de Steenweg, nabij het hotel Tivoli. De brug heeft dienst gedaan voor het wegen van de suikerbietenoogst, die werd aangevoerd met paard en wagen. Ook maakte de rijkspolitie gebruik van de brug voor controles.
De brug is thans buiten gebruik, maar wordt nog steeds zorgvuldig onderhouden en regelmatig geijkt.
Omschrijving
Het in halfsteens verband gemetselde, bakstenen gebouwtje is opgetrokken op rechthoekige grondslag en telt één bouwlaag onder een licht overkragend plat dak.
De VOORGEVEL heeft boven een hoge gemetselde borstwering een breed kozijn, dat doorloopt om de hoek. Het kozijn bevat in het midden een 4-ruits venster en links en rechts twee 2-ruits draairamen.
De LINKER ZIJGEVEL bevat een 2-ruits draairaam.
De ACHTERGEVEL is blind.
De RECHTER ZIJGEVEL bevat een 2-ruits draairaam en een opgeklampte deur.
Het INTERIEUR is nog volledig intact, inclusief de onderdelen om te wegen.
Voor het gebouwtje ligt de weegbrug, bestaande uit een grote betonnen plaat met stalen randen. In oorsprong had de brug een houten dek.
Waardering
Voormalige weegbrug uit ca 1929.

Introduction
Former WEIGHBRIDGE with associated WEIGHHOUSE, presumed built in 1929. The bridge with weighhouse are situated on the north-west side of the Steenweg, near the Tivoli hotel. The bridge has served for weighing the sugar beet harvest, which was brought by horse and cart. The national police also made use of the bridge for inspections.
The bridge is now out of use, but is still carefully maintained and regularly calibrated.
Description
The brick building, built in half-brick bond, is erected on a rectangular ground plan and comprises one storey under a slightly projecting flat roof.
The FRONT FACADE has above a high mortared parapet a wide window frame that runs around the corner. The window frame contains in the centre a 4-pane window and on the left and right two 2-pane casement windows.
The LEFT SIDE FACADE contains a 2-pane casement window.
The REAR FACADE is blind.
The RIGHT SIDE FACADE contains a 2-pane casement window and a bolted door.
The INTERIOR is still completely intact, including the components for weighing.
In front of the building is the weighbridge, consisting of a large concrete slab with steel edges. Originally the bridge had a wooden deck.
Valuation
Former weighbridge from c. 1929.
- Of cultural-historical value due to the appearance and former function, which are linked to a historical and economic development. The weighbridge, of which several occur in the Bommelerwaard, is closely linked with the agricultural function of the Bommelerwaard and the products that were cultivated there.
