Omschrijving onderdeel 2: HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG.
Het langgerekte perceel van de buitenplaats strekt zich uit tussen de Boxbergerweg (west) en een voormalige spoorlijn (oost). Van west naar oost wordt het terrein doorsneden door een oud, onverhard pad, dat tussen de Boxbergerweg en het hoofdgebouw in gebruik is genomen als (verharde) oprijlaan met eiken aan weerszijden. Voorbij het huis leidt het pad oostwaarts als onverharde weg langs de bij het landgoed behorende boerderij en landbouwerswoning tot aan de oostelijke grens van het terrein. De noordelijke strook, alsmede het zuidoostelijke deel van het terrein zijn in gebruik als landbouwgrond. Noordwestelijk (aan de Boxbergerweg) ligt een weide met boomgroep, die als landelijk-landschappelijke open ruimte een onderdeel vormt van diverse doorzichten vanuit het huis en vanaf de weg. De landschappelijke parkaanleg concentreert zich rond het hoofdgebouw, dat zich zuidwestelijk van de oprijlaan bevindt. De karakteristieke landschappelijke vijver in het zuidelijke deel van de aanleg was omstreeks 1850 (Topografische Kaart) reeds aanwezig, wat betekent dat de aanleg deels ouder is dan het huis in zijn huidige gedaante (1870-1883). De voorzijde van het huis is op de Boxbergerweg geprojecteerd. Voor het huis, aan de noordzijde grenzend aan de oprijlaan, ligt een ronde oprit. Deze is met grint gedekt en voorzien van een centraal grasperk waarop in het midden een hardstenen sokkel met Lodewijk XIV-detaillering is geplaatst. Op de sokkel een zonnewijzer. Het park kenmerkt zich door open en gesloten partijen op geaccidenteerd terrein, die het kader vormen van diverse doorzichten vanuit het huis in het park (met name op de vijverpartij) en van doorzichten vanuit het park op het huis, de vijver en de omringende landbouwgronden. Aan de voorzijde van het huis, evenals aan de rechterzijde, open partijen in de vorm van uitgestrekte gazons omsloten door een gevarieerde samenstelling van boom- en heestergroepen (waaronder exoten en rododendrons) en parkbos. In het met gras begroeide terrein voor het huis een ronde poel. Ten zuiden van het huis bovengenoemde fraaie vijver: de verdiept aangelegde waterpartij heeft globaal de vorm van een langgerekte stemvork, waarvan de beide tanden oostwaarts geprojecteerd zijn. Vanuit het huis is er een vrij gezicht op de aan drie zijden door parkbos omsloten vijver. Rond de vijver wandelingen met fraaie doorzichten. Eén van de paden voert door middel van een decoratieve houten brug over de waterpartij heen. Achter het huis een moestuin met koude bakken en een boomgaard, omsloten door een oude beukenhaag. Ten noordoosten van het huis een fraai ensemble van een boerderij met schuur, dat in de aanleg een bijzondere decoratieve waarde vertegenwoordigt. Het park bevat nog veel van de oorspronkelijke houtopstand: eik, beuk, rododendrons, exoten.
Waardering
De TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG is van algemeen belang:
- als goed en gaaf bewaard voorbeeld van een park waarin verschillende fasen van de landschapsstijl herkenbaar zijn;
- vanwege de omhaagde moestuin/boomgaard met koude bakken;
- vanwege de fraaie vijverpartij in landschappelijke stijl;
- vanwege de oprijlaan met oude eiken;
- vanwege het wandelbos rond de vijver met deels oorspronkelijke houtopstand;
- vanwege de visueel-ruimtelijke samenhang met de andere onderdelen van de buitenplaats.

Description component 2: HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT.
The elongated plot of the country estate extends between the Boxbergerweg (west) and a former railway line (east). From west to east the terrain is crossed by an old, unmade path, which between the Boxbergerweg and the main building has been adopted as a (paved) approach drive lined with oaks on both sides. Beyond the house the path leads eastward as an unmade road along the farmhouse and farm worker's dwelling belonging to the estate until the eastern boundary of the terrain. The northern strip, as well as the south-eastern part of the terrain are used as agricultural land. To the north-west (at the Boxbergerweg) lies a meadow with tree group, which as a rural-landscape open space forms part of various views from the house and from the road. The landscape park layout concentrates around the main building, which is situated south-west of the approach drive. The characteristic landscape pond in the southern part of the layout was already present around 1850 (Topographic Map), which means that the layout is in part older than the house in its present form (1870-1883). The front of the house is projected onto the Boxbergerweg. In front of the house, on the north side bordering the approach drive, lies a circular entrance court. This is covered with gravel and provided with a central grass plot on which in the middle a hard stone plinth with Louis XIV detailing has been placed. On the plinth a sundial. The park is characterised by open and closed areas on undulating terrain, which form the framework of various views from the house into the park (in particular towards the pond area) and of views from the park towards the house, the pond and the surrounding agricultural lands. At the front of the house, as well as on the right side, open areas in the form of extensive lawns enclosed by a varied composition of tree and shrub groups (including exotic species and rhododendrons) and parkland woodland. In the grass-covered terrain in front of the house a circular pool. To the south of the house the aforementioned fine pond: the recessed water feature has roughly the shape of an elongated tuning fork, of which both prongs are projected eastward. From the house there is a clear view of the pond enclosed on three sides by parkland woodland. Around the pond walks with fine views. One of the paths crosses the water feature by means of a decorative wooden bridge. Behind the house a vegetable garden with cold frames and an orchard, enclosed by an old beech hedge. To the north-east of the house a fine ensemble of a farmhouse with barn, which in the layout represents a particular decorative value. The park still contains much of the original timber stand: oak, beech, rhododendrons, exotic species.
Valuation
The GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT is of general importance:
- as a well and faithfully preserved example of a park in which different phases of the landscape style are recognizable;
- by virtue of the hedged vegetable garden/orchard with cold frames;
- by virtue of the fine pond in landscape style;
- by virtue of the approach drive with old oaks;
- by virtue of the woodland walk around the pond with partly original timber stand;
- by virtue of the visual-spatial coherence with the other components of the country estate.
