Inleiding

VILLA 'Den Hoek' met HEK ooit geheten 'De Goede Reede'. De villa is gebouwd aan het begin van de twintigste eeuw naar ontwerp van de architect J.A. HEUVELINK (1879-1949) uit Apeldoorn. Ontworpen, in opdracht van de dames H. van de Water, in overgangsarchitectuur beïnvloed door de chaletstijl, de neorenaissance en het rationalisme. De villa bevindt zich aan de westzijde van de Schoolstraat binnen de bebouwde kom van Voorst in de gemeente Voorst.

Omschrijving

VILLA 'Den Hoek' met samengesteld grondplan, bestaat uit twee bouwlagen afgesloten door een zadeldak met aangekapt omlopend schilddak met plat dak gedekt met gesmoorde, gegolfde Friese pannen. Op het platte dak bevindt zich een aantal onregelmatig verdeelde schoorsteenschachten. De geprofileerde bakgoot wordt soms ondersteund door klossen. De gevels met gepleisterd trasraam zijn opgetrokken in bruinrode baksteen in kruisverband. De vensters in de gevels worden aan de bovenzijde afgesloten door een geprofileerde hardstenen latei met een strek in rode verblendsteen. Ter hoogte van de boven-, wissel- en onderdorpels bevinden zich rode verblendstenen rollagen over de breedte van de gevel. De vensters worden aan de onderzijde afgesloten door een hardstenen lekdorpel. Tegen de westgevel bevindt zich een éénlaagsserre op rechthoekige plattegrond, afgesloten door een plat dak met balustrade. Eveneens tegen de westgevel bevindt zich een éénlaagsaanbouw met rechthoekige plattegrond afgesloten door een zadeldak gedekt met gesmoorde gegolfde Friese pannen. Aan de oostzijde bevindt zich op de begane grond een driezijdige erker met plat dak en balustrade.

De VOORGEVEL (oostgevel) bestaat uit een risalerende topgevel van de linkertravee, een middentravee en een terug gelegen rechtertravee. Op de begane grond van de topgevel bevindt zich een driezijdige erker met in iedere zijde een enkelruitsschuifvenster. Op de verdieping bevindt zich een dubbele balkondeur met glasindeling en tweeruitsbovenlicht. De balkondeur wordt aan weerszijden geflankeerd door persiennes. De travee eindigt in een topgevel met vakwerk en twee gekoppelde stolpramen in de geveltop. Onder het vakwerk bevinden zich centraal twee kleine uitgemetselde rondbogen met siermetselwerk in de boogtrommels. De kleine bogen worden links en rechts geflankeerd door een grote uitgemetselde rondboog. Het overstekend zadeldak is voorzien van geprofileerde windveren met geveltopversiering. Links in de middentravee bevindt zich de entree bestaande uit een paneeldeur met bovenlicht met sierrooster. Rechts van de entree bevinden zich twee enkelruitsschuifvensters. De travee eindigt in een decoratief bakstenen fries met bakgoot. Centraal in travee wordt de bakgoot doorbroken door een Vlaamse gevel die eindigt in een topgevel met achterliggend aangekapt zadeldak. In de Vlaamse gevel bevindt zich een stolpraam met bovenlicht. In de terug gelegen rechtertravee bevindt zich de gevel van een éénlaagsaanbouw met plat dak met achterliggende gevel van de keuken. In de gevel van de aanbouw bevindt zich een venster met diefijzers. Rechts van de aanbouw in de gevel van de keuken bevindt zich een schuifvenster.

De LINKERZIJGEVEL (zuidgevel) bestaat uit twee identieke traveeën. Op de begane grond in de linkertravee bevindt zich een enkelruitsschuifvenster met op de verdieping een stolpraam met bovenlicht. De rechtertravee is identiek aan de linkertravee.

Links tegen de ACHTERGEVEL (westgevel) bevindt zich een éénlaagsaanbouw met zadeldak. In de aanbouw bevindt zich op de begane grond en in de geveltop een vierruitsraam. Rechts op de begane grond bevindt zich een klein venster. In de terug gelegen gevel bevindt zich een dubbele tuindeur met glasindeling met twee gekoppelde bovenlichten. In het dakvlak bevindt zich een niet oorspronkelijke dakkapel. Op de begane grond in de rechtertravee bevindt zich een serre met plat dak en balustrade. Centraal in de serre bevindt zich een dubbele glasdeur met twee gekoppelde zesruitsbovenlichten. Aan weerszijden van de deur bevindt zich een venster met achtruitsbovenlicht. De zijgevels van de serre bestaan uit twee gekoppelde ramen met tienruitsbovenlicht. Op de verdieping bevindt zich een dubbele balkondeur met twee gekoppelde bovenlichten aan weerszijden geflankeerd door persiennes. In de geveltop bevindt zich een stolpraam met tweeruitsbovenlicht.

Uiterst links op de verdieping in de RECHTERZIJGEVEL (noordgevel) bevinden zich twee vensters met op de begane grond een kleine aanbouw met plat dak. Rechts van de aanbouw bevindt zich een afgewolfde topgevel met op de begane grond en in de geveltop een venster. Rechts van de afgewolfde topgevel bevindt zich de zijgevel van de éénlaagsachteraanbouw. Het INTERIEUR is grotendeels in oorspronkelijke staat met onder meer gehoute paneeldeuren, gemarmerde lambrisering, trappartij, stucplafonds en een terrazzovloer met de initialen van de opdrachtgever.

Het perceel van de villa wordt ontsloten aan de Schoolstraat door een HEK, bestaande uit twee maal twee hardstenen geprofileerde inrijpilaren waartussen smeedijzeren vleugels. Het vaste ijzeren hek is geplaatst op een gepleisterd fundament.

Introduction

Description

VILLA 'Den Hoek' with composite ground plan, consisting of two storeys closed by a gabled roof with adjoining surrounding hipped roof with flat roof covered with dampened, corrugated Frisian tiles. On the flat roof are located a number of irregularly distributed chimney shafts. The profiled rainwater gutter is sometimes supported by corbels. The facades with plastered ashlar frame are built up in brownish-red brick in English bond. The windows in the facades are closed off at the top by a profiled stone lintel with a course in red facing brick. At the level of the upper, middle and lower cills are red facing brick roll courses across the width of the facade. The windows are closed off at the bottom by a stone drip moulding. Against the west facade is a single-storey conservatory on rectangular ground plan, closed by a flat roof with balustrade. Also against the west facade is a single-storey extension with rectangular ground plan closed by a gabled roof covered with dampened corrugated Frisian tiles. On the east side on the ground floor is a three-sided bay window with flat roof and balustrade.

The FRONT FACADE (east facade) consists of a projecting top gable of the left bay, a centre bay and a recessed right bay. On the ground floor of the top gable is a three-sided bay window with in each side a single-raked sash window. On the first floor is a double balcony door with glazing and two-pane fanlight. The balcony door is flanked on both sides by venetian blinds. The bay ends in a top gable with half-timbering and two coupled casement windows in the gable head. Below the half-timbering are centrally two small rendered round arches with decorative brickwork in the arch drums. The small arches are flanked left and right by a large rendered round arch. The overhanging gabled roof is provided with profiled wind braces with gable head decoration. On the left in the centre bay is the entrance consisting of a panelled door with fanlight with decorative grille. To the right of the entrance are two single-raked sash windows. The bay ends in a decorative brick frieze with rainwater gutter. Centrally in the bay the rainwater gutter is interrupted by a Flemish gable that ends in a top gable with recessed adjoining gabled roof. In the Flemish gable is a casement window with fanlight. In the recessed right bay is the facade of a single-storey extension with flat roof with recessed facade of the kitchen. In the facade of the extension is a window with burglar bars. To the right of the extension in the facade of the kitchen is a sash window.

The LEFT SIDE FACADE (south facade) consists of two identical bays. On the ground floor in the left bay is a single-raked sash window with on the first floor a casement window with fanlight. The right bay is identical to the left bay.

On the left against the REAR FACADE (west facade) is a single-storey extension with gabled roof. In the extension is on the ground floor and in the gable head a four-pane window. On the right on the ground floor is a small window. In the recessed facade is a double garden door with glazing with two coupled fanlights. In the roof plane is a non-original roof dormer. On the ground floor in the right bay is a conservatory with flat roof and balustrade. Centrally in the conservatory is a double glass door with two coupled six-pane fanlights. On both sides of the door is a window with six-pane fanlight. The side facades of the conservatory consist of two coupled windows with ten-pane fanlight. On the first floor is a double balcony door with two coupled fanlights on both sides flanked by venetian blinds. In the gable head is a casement window with two-pane fanlight.

On the far left on the first floor in the RIGHT SIDE FACADE (north facade) are two windows with on the ground floor a small extension with flat roof. To the right of the extension is a half-hipped top gable with on the ground floor and in the gable head a window. To the right of the half-hipped top gable is the side facade of the single-storey rear extension. The INTERIOR is largely in original condition with among other things wooden panelled doors, marbled wainscoting, staircase, stucco ceilings and a terrazzo floor with the initials of the client.

The plot of the villa is accessed from the Schoolstraat by a GATE, consisting of two by two profiled stone entrance pillars between which wrought-iron wings. The fixed iron gate is placed on a plastered foundation.
