Inleiding
Aan de Bovendijk gelegen bakstenen DIJKMAGAZIJN onder pannen zadeldak uit het vierde kwart van de 19de eeuw. De situering is onaangetast. Het magazijn ligt aan de rivierzijde op het talud, op rijbaanhoogte. Een identiek dijkmagazijn staat aan De Tuut in Appeltern.
Omschrijving
Het gebouw is opgetrokken in baksteen op een rechthoekig grondplan. Het telt twee bouwlagen onder een met grijze oudhollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak waarvan de nok evenwijdig aan de weg loopt. Licht overstek aan elke zijde, met windveren aan de kopgevels en houten daklijst met vogelschroot langs de zijgevels. Het metselwerk is uitgevoerd in kruisverband, platvol gevoegd. Hardstenen dorpels onder de laaddeuren; gecementeerde plint rondom. De KOPGEVELS zijn identiek met centraal in beide bouwlagen een dubbele laaddeur; de onderste is segmentbogig getoogd; de andere is spitsbogig; de onderste laaddeuren zijn opgeklampt; van de bovenste is die in de noordgevel uitgevoerd met Louvre-delen in het boogveld. Aan weerszijden van de deuren een smal staand rechthoekig spaarveld. In de geveltop een dergelijk veld in gedrukte spitsboogvorm. De ZIJGEVELS worden geleed door een vijftal spaarvelden in beide bouwlagen waarin smalle ventilatiespleten met gecementeerde omlijsting zijn opgenomen.

Description
The building is constructed in brick on a rectangular ground plan. It has two storeys beneath a gabled roof covered with grey old Dutch tiles with the ridge parallel to the road. Slight overhang on each side, with wind braces at the gable ends and wooden roof edge with bird's beak along the side facades. The brickwork is executed in English bond, flush jointed. Stone sills beneath the loading doors; cemented plinth all around. The GABLE ENDS are identical with centrally in both storeys a double loading door; the lower one is segmental arch-dressed; the other is pointed arch; the lower loading doors are clasped; the upper one in the north facade is executed with Louvre sections in the arch field. On either side of the doors a narrow tall rectangular spandrel. In the gable top a similar field in compressed pointed arch form. The SIDE FACADES are divided by a series of five spandrels in both storeys in which narrow ventilation slits with cemented surround are incorporated.
