Inleiding
CATECHISATIELOKAAL, behorende tot het kerkcomplex 'Grote Kerk', gebouwd in de negentiende eeuw in eclectische stijl en gerestaureerd in 1976, beeldbepalend gesitueerd, oorspronkelijk vrijstaand, aan de noordwestzijde van de kerk aan de Oude Torenstraat, verbonden met een aanbouw, gebouwd in 1977, aan de noordzijde van de kerk.
Omschrijving
Het catechisatielokaal is opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond en heeft een hoogte van één bouwlaag onder schilddak. De gevels zijn gepleisterd en worden geleed door schijnvoegen, lisenen en hoeklisenen, waarboven gesneden Corinthische consoles onder de gootlijst. De voorgevel (W) bevat in het midden een dubbele houten schijndeur waarboven een kroonlijst op consoles, aan weerszijden geflankeerd door een venster.
De linker zijgevel (N) grenst gedeeltelijk aan de pastorie, Oude Torenstraat 6, en bevat rechts een venster.
De rechter zijgevel (Z) bevat drie vensterassen.
De achtergevel (O) grenst aan de aanbouw, toegankelijk via een deur.

CATECHISM CLASS ROOM, belonging to the church complex 'Grote Kerk', built in the nineteenth century in eclectic style and restored in 1976, prominently sited, originally freestanding, on the north-western side of the church at Oude Torenstraat, connected with an extension, built in 1977, on the northern side of the church.
Description
The catechism class room is erected on a rectangular plan and has a height of one storey under hipped roof. The facades are plastered and are articulated by false joints, pilasters and corner pilasters, above which carved Corinthian consoles under the cornice. The front facade (W) contains in the centre a double wooden dummy door above which a cornice on consoles, flanked on either side by a window.
The left side facade (N) borders partly on the parsonage, Oude Torenstraat 6, and contains on the right a window.
The right side facade (S) contains three window bays.
The rear facade (E) borders on the extension, accessible via a door.
Valuation
The catechism class room is of general importance on account of its architectural and cultural-historical value as a functional-spatial component of the church complex 'Grote Kerk' and as a catechism class room in eclectic style from the nineteenth century.
