Inleiding
Voormalige ZONDAGSSCHOOL gelegen in het buitengebied ten oosten van de stad Epe, in het buurtschap Zuuk tussen het Apeldoorns Kanaal en de Nieuwe Wetering. Het gebouwtje ligt binnen de lintbebouwing van boerderijen aan het landelijke Koepad. Het is opgericht omstreeks 1937 naar ontwerp van aannemer R. Poll Jonker. Het betreft hier de herbouw van een bouwvallig geworden zondagsschoolgebouwtje dat reeds aan het einde van de negentiende eeuw op deze plaats werd opgericht. De school was eigendom van de Evangelisatievereniging Bethel uit Emst (1869), die het gebouw in 1924 verkocht aan de Rechtzinnig Evangelisatievereninging te Epe. Het gebouw bezit een sobere, voor het Interbellum kenmerkende detaillering, waarbij vooral de uitgemetselde ingangspartij en de metalen dakruiter opvallend zijn. Deze spitse bekroning maakt het schooltje als religieus gebouw herkenbaar. De kleine voormalige ZONDAGSSCHOOL is opgetrokken in baksteen op een rechthoekige plattegrond en telt één bouwlaag onder een relatief hoog zadeldak waarvan de schilden doorlopen tot aan de bovendorpels van de vensters. De schilden zijn belegd met gesmoorde tuile du Nordpannen en de afwatering vindt plaats via mastgoten. Voor op de nok van het dak, die dwars op het Koepad is gericht, bevindt zich een vierzijdige metalen dakruiter die wordt bekroond door een overstekende vierzijdige spits. De gevels zijn opgemetseld in halfsteensverband en bezitten een trasraam. De symmetrisch ingedeelde VOORGEVEL bezit een uitgemetselde ingangspartij. Deze wordt afgesloten door een klein zadeldak belegd met gesmoorde tuile du Nordpannen. Het puntgeveltje van de ingangspartij is witgeschilderd. De groengeschilderde houten paneeldeur is opgebouwd uit panelen met een voor de bouwtijd kenmerkend zig-zag-profiel. Voor de ingang ligt een stoep, belegd met rode tegels. Onder de dakrand wordt de sobere gevel afgesloten door een gemetselde rollaag. De RECHTER ZIJGEVEL en de LINKER ZIJGEVEL zijn vrijwel identiek uitgevoerd en bezitten elk twee vensters, bestaande uit twee vierkante, openslaande ramen onder een breed achtruits bovenlicht. De bovenlichten zijn gevuld met ongekleurd kathedraalglas. Het kozijnhout is wit geschilderd. De vensters zijn voorzien van groengeschilderde luiken. Tegen de linker zijgevel is een bak gemetseld, vermoedelijk ten behoeve van de opslag van kolen. De ACHTERGEVEL van het gebouw is blind. Het INTERIEUR is uiterst sober en bestaat uit één lokaal.

Former SUNDAY SCHOOL located in the rural area east of the town of Epe, in the hamlet of Zuuk between the Apeldoorns Canal and the Nieuwe Wetering. The hips are clad with dark tuile du Nord tiles and drainage is via box gutters. On the ridge of the roof, which is oriented transversely to the Koepad, there is a four-sided metal roof ridge topped by an overhanging four-sided spire. The facades are built in half-brick bond and possess a lime mortar frame. The symmetrically arranged FRONT FACADE has a rendered entrance section. This is crowned by a small gabled roof clad with dark tuile du Nord tiles. The pointed gable of the entrance section is whitewashed. The green-painted wooden panelled door is composed of panels with a chevron profile characteristic of the period of construction. In front of the entrance is a step, paved with red tiles. Below the roof edge the sober facade is finished with a rendered roll course. The RIGHT SIDE FACADE and LEFT SIDE FACADE are virtually identically executed and each have two windows, consisting of two square, opening casements under a broad fanlight. The fanlights are filled with uncoloured cathedral glass. The frame wood is whitewashed. The windows are fitted with green-painted shutters. Against the left side facade is a bin built in, presumably for storing coal. The REAR FACADE of the building is blank. The INTERIOR is extremely sober and consists of a single room.
