Omschrijving
Inleiding
SIGARENFABRIEK uit 1896 naar ontwerp van A. van Kamen, de toenmalige eigenaar van de fabriek. Het pand is gebouwd in de stijl van het eclecticisme. De fabriek ligt aan de Kalkhaven in de historische binnenstad van Dordrecht in het beschermd stadsgezicht.
N.B Het interieur van de fabriek is behoudens de constructie grondig gewijzigd. De linker deurpartij is vernieuwd
Omschrijving
Sigarenfabriek opgebouwd uit een staalconstructie over vier bouwlagen met houten vloeren en een plat dak. De buitenmuren zijn opgetrokken in baksteen.
De drieassige voorgevel heeft uitgemetselde pilasters en een geprofileerde daklijst op klampen met daarin opgenomen de lijstbekroning van de pilasters. Onder de lijst een versierd fries. Direct onder de pilasterbekroningen bevinden zich sierlijke muurankers.
Op de begane grond drie identieke entreepartijen met gestucte deuromlijstingen waarin een deur met zij- en bovenlichten onder een segmentboog zijn gevat. Op de verdiepingen telkens grote drielichten met T-vensters. Op de eerste verdieping zijn deze geplaatst onder gekoppelde rondbogen met sluitstenen, op de tweede verdieping onder een segmentboogreeks met sluitstenen. De vensters van de vierde bouwlaag worden bekroond met een rechtgesloten lijst met sluitstenen.
Ter hoogte van de verdiepingsvloeren bevinden zich reeksen muurankers.

De sigarenfabriek is van algemeen belang vanwege architectuurhistorische, cultuurhistorische en stedenbouwkundige waarde.

CIGAR FACTORY from 1896 designed by A. van Kamen, the then owner of the factory. The building was constructed in the eclectic style. The factory is located at the Kalkhaven in the historic city centre of Dordrecht within a protected townscape.
N.B. The interior of the factory has been thoroughly modified except for the construction. The left door section has been renewed.
Description
Cigar factory constructed from a steel frame over four storeys with wooden floors and a flat roof. The external walls are built in brick.
The three-bay front facade has rusticated pilasters and a moulded cornice on corbels incorporating the cornice crowning of the pilasters. Below the cornice a decorated frieze. Directly below the pilaster crownings are ornamental wall anchors.
On the ground floor three identical entrance sections with stuccoed door surrounds in which a door with side lights and fanlight beneath a segmental arch are framed. On the upper storeys each time large three-light windows with T-windows. On the first floor these are placed beneath coupled round arches with keystones, on the second floor beneath a row of segmental arches with keystones. The windows of the fourth storey are crowned with a straight moulding with keystones.
At the level of the storey floors are rows of wall anchors.
