Omschrijving onderdeel 1: het HOOFDHUIS.
Het hoofdhuis ligt enkele tientallen meters van de weg en is bereikbaar via de Spanderslaan. Ter plaatse vormt het een ensemble met de dienstwoningen annex stalgebouwen en de boerderij Spandershof. Hoewel van oudere oorsprong, wekt het thans de indruk van een huis uit het begin van de 19de eeuw met latere aanpassingen. Het is bescheiden van architectuur, maar bijzonder fraai gelegen ten opzichte van de vijver en het gazon met zichtas tot aan de straat. Het huis is een vrij groot rechthoekig huis van zeven traveeën breed en het bestaat voorts uit twee bouwlagen, een kelder en een met zink gedekt schilddak. Het gebouw is rondom gepleisterd en voorzien van een kroonlijst. Een oorspronkelijk attiek is verdwenen. Met uitzondering an de voorgevel hebben de gevels een onregelmatige indeling met vensters en deuren. De voorgevel heeft een middenrisaliet, waarin de deurpartij en een balkon voor de verdieping. Voorts heeft het de empire vensters met stores behouden. De achtergevel heeft een onregelmatige vensterindeling met lage vensters voor de verdieping. Hier tekent zich het omgelegde schoorsteenkanaal ten behoeve van het venster boven de haard in de grote zaal zich af (zie hierna). Op de rechter zijgevel staat de tekst DA PACEM DOMINE IN DIEBUS DOMINUS. De linker zijgevel heeft een uitbouw ter vergroting van het trappenhuis. In het inwendige is de indeling met middengang/hal, kamers aan weerszijden en dwars op de hal het trappenhuis bewaard. De grote achterkamer rechts op de begane grond heeft het met wijnranken gedecoreerde stucplafond behouden. Bijzonder is hier de haardpartij. Het rookkanaal is schuin in de muur weggewerkt en in de plaats van een schoorsteenboezem bevindt zich boven de marmeren schouw een venster. Dit venster kan op zijn beurt worden afgesloten met een in de wand weggewerkte spiegel die door middel van een hendel beweegbaar is. De voorkamer rechts op de begane grond heeft eveneens nog het stucplafond met een bloemornament, de haardpartij en de parketvloer behouden. Ook het trappenhuis met trappen, leuningen en ballusters is nog geheel intact. De overige vertrekken, met name op de verdieping hebben vanouds een sobere afwerking.
Waardering
Het HOOFDHUIS is van algemeen belang:
- als voorbeeld van een groot, maar overigens eenvoudig buitenhuis van omstreeks 1850-1860. Als zodanig redelijk tot gaaf bewaard, waarbij exterieur en interieur een goede eenheid vormen;
- vanwege zijn fraaie ligging in relatie tot het park aan de voorzijde.

Description of component 1: the MAIN HOUSE.
The main house stands several tens of metres from the road and is accessible via the Spanderslaan. At that location it forms an ensemble with the service dwellings annex stable buildings and the farmhouse Spandershof. Although of older origin, it now gives the impression of a house from the beginning of the 19th century with later alterations. It is modest in architecture, but particularly beautifully situated in relation to the pond and the lawn with a sight line to the street. The house is a fairly large rectangular house seven bays wide and furthermore consists of two storeys, a basement and a hipped roof covered with zinc. The building is plastered all around and provided with a cornice. An original attic has disappeared. With the exception of the front gable the gables have an irregular arrangement with windows and doors. The front gable has a central risalit, in which the door section and a balcony for the upper storey. Furthermore it has retained the empire windows with blinds. The rear gable has an irregular window arrangement with low windows for the upper storey. Here the redirected chimney flue for the window above the hearth in the great hall shows itself (see below). On the right side gable the text DA PACEM DOMINE IN DIEBUS DOMINUS appears. The left side gable has an extension for enlargement of the stairwell. In the interior the arrangement with central corridor/hall, rooms on either side and transversely to the hall the stairwell has been preserved. The large rear room on the right on the ground floor has retained its stucco ceiling decorated with vine tendrils. Particularly notable here is the hearth section. The flue is angled away into the wall and in place of a chimney breast there is a window above the marble fireplace. This window can in turn be closed with a mirror recessed in the wall which can be moved by means of a lever. The front room on the right on the ground floor has also retained its stucco ceiling with floral ornament, the hearth section and the parquet floor. The stairwell with stairs, handrails and balusters is also completely intact. The remaining rooms, particularly on the upper storey have always had a simple finish.
Valuation
The MAIN HOUSE is of public interest:
- as an example of a large but otherwise simple country house of circa 1850-1860. As such reasonably well preserved to complete, whereby exterior and interior form a good unity;
- because of its beautiful situation in relation to the park at the front.
