Inleiding
WINKELPAND met omstreeks 1880 gebouwde voorgevel met winkelpui. De representatieve gevel is gebouwd in de destijds gangbare stijl van het Eclecticisme. Het pand maakt deel uit van de gesloten gevelwand in het dorpscentrum van Strijen en vormt een ensemble met het niet van rijkswege beschermde buurpand nr. 26, waarmee het is verbonden.
Omschrijving
Het winkelpand wordt afgesloten met een afgewolfd zadeldak en heeft een voorgevel in de vorm van een ingezwenkte lijstgevel of afgeknotte klokgevel, een geveltype dat zeer karakteristiek is voor de bouwtijd. De symmetrische gevel is opgetrokken in gepleisterde baksteen, die is verlevendigd met schijnvoegen. De gevel wordt horizontaal geleed door een cordonlijst en is voorzien van getoogde gevelopeningen en een grijs geschilderde plint met diamantkoppen. De entree bestaat uit een ondiepe portiek met schuine wanden en een dubbele paneel-/glasdeur met pseudo-stolpnaald en diamantkop in het onderpaneel. De deur is voorzien van een getoogd bovenlicht met afgeronde hoeken. Het portiek staat onder een toog met filigrain-snijwerk en een door een kuif met vrouwenkopje en loofwerk bekroonde, geprofileerde kroonlijst die doorloopt boven de etalageramen aan weerszijden en de hoekpenanten. De hoeken van het portiek worden geaccentueerd door een halfzuiltje dat wordt beëindigd door gesneden kapitelen met acanthusbladmotieven, waartussen het snijwerk van de toog is geklemd. De etalagevensters zijn voorzien van houten ramen met afgeronde hoeken in zowel de boven- als de onderramen. De etalageramen staan eveneens onder geprofileerde, met kuiven versierde togen. Tussen de winkelpui en de hierboven staande gevelpartij ligt een geprofileerde cordonlijst. Het getoogde venster hierboven is voorzien van een T-raam met afgeronde hoeken en een geprofileerde omlijsting met kuifbekroning. De rechter gevelhoek is versierd met een plastisch ornament. De gehele geveltop wordt omlijst door een licht uitkragende lijst van spiegelbogen. De geveltop wordt beëindigd door een entablement met een geprofileerde, uitkragende kroonlijst.
De rechter zijgevels van zowel het hoofdvolume als het lagere bedrijfsgedeelte hierachter zijn opgetrokken in schone baksteen. De linker zijgevel grenst aan het buurpand.

Description
The shop building is finished with a rounded gabled roof and has a front facade in the form of a slightly angled cornice-topped facade or truncated bell gable, a facade type that is very characteristic of the period of construction. The symmetrical facade is built in plastered brickwork, which is enlivened with false joints. The facade is divided horizontally by a cordon moulding and is provided with arched facade openings and a grey-painted plinth with diamond motifs. The entrance consists of a shallow porch with angled walls and a double panel/glass door with pseudo-stoep nail and diamond motif in the lower panel. The door is provided with an arched fanlight with rounded corners. The porch stands under a toog with filigree carved work and a profiled cornice crowned by a hood with female head and foliate ornament that continues above the shop windows on either side and the corner pilasters. The corners of the porch are accentuated by a half-column that is terminated by carved capitals with acanthus leaf motifs, between which the carved work of the toog is clamped. The shop windows are provided with wooden frames with rounded corners in both the upper and lower frames. The shop windows likewise stand under profiled toogs decorated with hoods. Between the shop front and the facade section above lies a profiled cordon moulding. The arched window above is provided with a T-frame with rounded corners and a profiled surround with hood crown. The right facade corner is decorated with a plastic ornament. The entire gable top is framed by a slightly projecting moulding of mirror arches. The gable top is finished by an entablature with a profiled, projecting cornice.
The right side facades of both the main volume and the lower business section behind are built in fair-faced brickwork. The left side facade adjoins the neighbouring building.
