Inleiding
WATERPOMPSTATION in traditionele bouwstijl, 1926. Gebouwd in opdracht van het waterleidingbedrijf van de particuliere mijnonderneming Laura & Vereeniging, hoogstwaarschijnlijk naar een ontwerp van het bouwbureau van deze mijn.
Het pompstation is gesitueerd op de westelijke oever van het riviertje de Worm, dat ter plekke de rijksgrens vormt met de Bondsrepubliek Duitsland. Het pompstation bevindt zich ten oosten van de lineaire bebouwingsstructuur van de dorpskern van Rimburg.
Van bescherming UITGESLOTEN zijn de in 1926 gebouwde dienstwoning (noordzijde), de aan de noordzijde van het pompstation bijgebouwde trafo, de L-vormige aanbouw tegen de zuidgevel en de betonnen reinwaterkelder aan de oostzijde achter het pompstation.
Omschrijving
Het waterpompstation heeft een rechthoekige PLATTEGROND en telt één BOUWLAAG. Het pand wordt gedekt door een ZADELDAK met rode muldenpannen. Bakgoten annex overstek. De noklijn is in oost-westrichting dwars op de straatweg en het riviertje de Worm gesitueerd.
Het pompstation heeft rechthoekige stalen VENSTERS en DEUREN. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in groot formaat handvormsteen, gemetseld in kruisverband en voorzien van open voegen. Gepleisterde plint met rollaag, gepleisterde dorpelstenen. Strekken.
Alle gevels zijn symmetrisch ingedeeld en worden geleed door in frieslijsten uitlopende lisenen met bloktanddecoraties. De VOORGEVEL (westzijde) heeft een risalerende bakstenen entreeomlijsting, waarboven een frontonvormige strek. In deze omlijsting is een rechthoekige, dubbele stalen entreedeur geplaatst met kleine roedenverdeling in de glaspanelen. Boven deze deuren achtereenvolgens een betonlatei en twee rechthoekige stalen bovenlichten met kleine roedenverdeling. Aan beide zijden van de entreedeur een rechthoekig stalen vensterkozijn met vijftienruits roedenverdeling.
De linker (noordzijde) en rechter ZIJGEVEL (zuidzijde) zijn van oorsprong identiek: gevelgeleding door middel van lisenen, drie vensterassen met elk een 30-ruits rechthoekig stalen vensterkozijn.
De ACHTERGEVEL (oostzijde) heeft twee smalle gekoppelde vensteropeningen, waarin twee hoge rechthoekige stalen vensters met 18-ruits roedenverdeling.
Het perceel wordt aan de straatzijde omgeven door een bakstenen ommuring, op regelmatige afstanden voorzien van kolommen. Tussen deze kolommen bevindt zich eenvoudig buiswerk. De hekwerken in deze ommuring zijn vernieuwd. De in het gebouwtje aanwezige POMPINSTALLATIE dateert deels uit 1926 en is deels in 1955 vernieuwd.
Waardering
Het waterpompstation te Rimburg is van cultuurhistorische waarde en vertegenwoordigt nationaal belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een technische en typologische ontwikkeling met een ten tijde van de bouw innovatieve waarde: de aanleg van een regionaal waterleidingnet.
De bescheiden architectuurhistorische waarden van het pompgebouw worden bepaald door de traditionele bouwstijl en de eenvoudige ornamentiek. Het pompgebouw is vanwege de situering verbonden met de ontwikkeling van de omringende streek, van belang voor het aanzien van Rimburg en beschikt over een historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met het grensriviertje de Worm.

Description
The water pump station has a rectangular GROUND PLAN and comprises one STOREY. The building is covered by a GABLED ROOF with red pantiles. Box gutters and overhanging eaves. The roof ridge runs in an east-west direction across the road and the small river Worm.
The pump station has rectangular steel WINDOWS and DOORS. The facades are constructed of large-format hand-moulded brick, laid in Flemish bond and provided with open joints. Rendered plinth with roll moulding, rendered threshold stones. Stretchings.
All facades are symmetrically arranged and articulated by lisenes terminating in frieze mouldings with block-tooth decorations. The FRONT FACADE (west side) has a projecting brick entrance surround, above which a pediment-shaped stretching. In this surround is placed a rectangular, double steel entrance door with small glazing bars in the glass panels. Above these doors respectively a concrete lintel and two rectangular steel fanlights with small glazing bars. On both sides of the entrance door a rectangular steel window frame with fifteen-pane glazing bars.
The left (north side) and right SIDE FACADE (south side) are originally identical: facade articulation by means of lisenes, three window axes each with a 30-pane rectangular steel window frame.
The REAR FACADE (east side) has two narrow coupled window openings, in which two tall rectangular steel windows with 18-pane glazing bars.
The plot is surrounded at street level by a brick wall, provided at regular intervals with columns. Between these columns is simple tubework. The gates in this wall have been renewed. The PUMP INSTALLATION present in the building dates partly from 1926 and was partly renewed in 1955.
