Het woonstalhuis is in 1876 gebouwd in Eclectische stijl en maakt deel uit van de lintbebouwing aan de Groenstraat.
Omschrijving
Eenlaags woonstalhuis, opgetrokken uit baksteen, met mansardedak gedekt met leien in rensdekking op de schilden en overigens kruispannen. De voorgevel van het woongedeelte heeft een gepleisterde plint, een cassettenfries en een houten gootlijst op klossen.
Links en rechts van de voordeur twee beluikte zesruits schuiframen onder getrapte hanekammen. De kussenpaneelvoordeur heeft een gestucte omlijsting met kuif. Het stalgedeelte heeft drie halfronde vensters, waarvan twee met fraaie gietijzeren radiale roedenindeling. Dubbele getoogde opgeklampte deuren met een sluitsteen waarin een paard en de tekst: 'Geb./B.M./5.3.1876'. In het dakvlak boven het woongedeelte drie dakkapellen met frontons en decoratief timmerwerk. De linker zijgevel heeft een beluikt zesruits raam en op de verdieping 2 vernieuwde openslaande ramen en een rondraam. In de rechter zijgevel een getoogde opgeklampte deur, een latere deur en een tandlijst die doorsneden wordt door een hooiluik met bovenlicht. Hierboven twee halfronde stalvensters en een oculus in de top. De achtergevel is deels ouder, is in circa 1950 verhoogd en telt twee zesruits ramen. Twee aanbouwen met zadeldaken en een poortdoorgang en een in circa 1975 vergrote raampartij. De verbinding met de schuur wordt gemaakt door een vernieuwde poort tussen twee bakstenen pijlers met speklagen.
Inwendig een middengang met bevloering in Naamse steen en marmer. Paneeldeuren. In de 'goei' kamer een marmeren schouw met inlegwerk en een stucplafond met florale motieven. In de achterkamer een betegelde en omlijste schouw en een verplaatste driedelige bedstedenwand met paneeldeuren.
Waardering
De boerderij is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van de aanpassing in de late negentiende eeuw aan nieuwe eisen van het traditionele boerderijtype in de Meijerij. Het gebouw heeft architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van de toepassing van motieven uit de neostijlen aan een landelijk bouwwerk, dat getuigt van de negentiende-eeuwse bloei van de Meijerij. Single-storey dwelling-byre house, built of brick, with mansard roof covered with slates in random laying on the hipped parts and otherwise plain tiles. The front facade of the residential part has a plastered plinth, a cassette frieze and a wooden gutter on brackets.
To the left and right of the front door two shuttered six-pane sash windows under stepped roof crests. The cushion-panel front door has a stuccoed frame with a pediment. The byre part has three semicircular windows, two of which with fine cast-iron radial glazing bars. Double arched secured doors with a keystone bearing a horse and the text: 'Built./B.M./5.3.1876'. In the roof section above the residential part three roof dormers with pediments and decorative woodwork. The left side gable has a shuttered six-pane window and on the upper floor 2 renewed sash windows and a round window. In the right side gable an arched secured door, a later door and a dentil course which is intersected by a hayloft window with a fanlight. Above this two semicircular byre windows and an oculus in the apex. The rear facade is partly older, was raised circa 1950 and has two six-pane windows. Two extensions with gabled roofs and a gateway passage and a window section enlarged circa 1975. The connection with the barn is made by a renewed gate between two brick pillars with stone courses.
Internally a central corridor with flooring in Namur stone and marble. Panel doors. In the 'good' room a marble fireplace with inlaid work and a stucco ceiling with floral motifs. In the rear room a tiled and framed fireplace and a displaced three-part bedstead wall with panel doors.
Valuation
The farmhouse is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as an example of adaptation in the late nineteenth century to new requirements of the traditional farmhouse type in the Meijerij. The building has architectural-historical value as an example of the application of motifs from the neoclassical styles to a rural building, which testifies to the nineteenth-century prosperity of the Meijerij. It has ensemble values as part of the series of valuable farmhouses and dwellings in the settlement structure of the 'cross-streets'. It has been well preserved.
