The LAUNDRY "Gooi en Eemland" consists of four adjoining building volumes, the most southerly of which was built in 1870 in a craftsmanlike-traditional building style. The adjacent main volume in the same building style with brickwork ornamentation dates from 1920 and the two northern volumes from 1905. Description

The composite building volume of the laundry consists of four buildings. On the south side a building at the height of one storey, constructed in brick under a mansard roof with the ridge line parallel to the road and covered with weathered Dutch tiles (1870). To the north of that, adjoining, a building constructed on a rectangular floor plan in red brick to the width of twelve window bays in two storeys under a gabled roof with the ridge line parallel to the road and covered with weathered Dutch tiles (1920). Subsequently a building with plastered facades constructed on a rectangular floor plan at the height of one storey under a gabled roof with wind brace and top tie and with the ridge line perpendicular to the road, covered with weathered Dutch tiles (1905). Finally a building with plastered facades constructed on a rectangular floor plan at the height of one storey under a mansard roof with wind brace and top tie and with the ridge line perpendicular to the road and weathered Dutch tiles (1905).

The first building contains in the front facade (E) on the left large doors and on the right a T-window with shutters. The second building contains in the front facade in the outermost four window bays on the ground floor cross windows with casement frames under double fanlights and on the upper storey windows with swing frames. In the middle four bays alternately a panel door with sawtooth motif under double fanlight and a window. The facade is on the storey division and on the upper storey where there are no windows, provided with brickwork ornamentation. The window sills are splayed, at the height of which a drip moulding is incorporated in the facade. In a black and beige tile tableau across the full width of the facade is included the following text: "Anno1870/steam laundry/and/pressing establishment/Gooi en Eemland/J. Smeerdijk en Zoon/tel: 4085". Completely on the left is an entrance in a horizontally covered intermediate section. The third building contains in the front facade a large double door with glazing bars and to the right of that a six-pane window with shutters. At the top an iron rose window. Drip moulding, relieving arch, arch drum and frame of the rose window are executed in red brick. The fourth building contains on the ground floor on the left a door under fanlight and two T-windows with shutters. On the upper storey a window. The relieving arches are of red brick, while the arch drums are filled with yellow/brown/grey stones. The right side facade (N) of the fourth building contains two sash windows.

The rear facades (W) are white in colour. The first building contains an extension under a lean-to roof. The second building contains cross windows on the ground floor and a central door section. On the upper storey broad three-part windows with glazing bars, except above the door. On the storey division painted the text: "Gooi en Eemland". Completely on the right is a tall block-shaped water tower. The third building, set back slightly, contains T-windows, the fourth building an extension and window on the upper storey.
