Inleiding
URNENMONUMENT van de familie Von Saher. Het uit de jaren '20 of het eind van de jaren '10 daterende urnenmonument is van de hand van de Amsterdamse beeldhouwer Hildo Krop (1884-1970). Eén van de bijgezette urnen is die van Eduard August von Saher (1849-1918), directeur van het Museum van Kunst toegepast op Nijverheid en de School voor Kunstnijverheid te Haarlem.
Omschrijving
Circa 1,90 m breed en 2,10 m diep urnenmonument van crèmekleurig kalksteen waarvan de ruim 2 meter hoge halfronde achterwand een plat dak heeft dat middenvoor naar voren uitspringt en hier voorzien is van de familienaam in opvallend vormgegeven letters. Vooraan op de halfhoge zijwanden staat een expressief vormgegeven sculptuur: links een geknielde vrouwenfiguur die de droefheid symboliseert, rechts een door beierende klokken omgeven vrouw als symbool voor de vreugde. De achterwand is aan de binnenzijde uitgevoerd als een zeszijdige urnenwand met bovenin zes gesloten urnnissen, in de onderliggende rij vier dito urnnissen, en hieronder twee eveneens dichte nissen. De voorplaat van elke urnnis wordt vergrendeld door een opgeschroefde koperen plaat in de vorm van een naar beneden gerichte pijl waarin de naam van de overledene is uitgespaard alsmede de datum en plaats van geboorte en overlijden. Op de vloer in het urnenmonument liggen onregelmatig gevormde vloertegels.
Waardering
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang wegens cultuurhistorische waarde als karakteristiek en gaaf bewaard urnenmonument uit het interbellum op de begraafplaats Westerveld; wegens de funerair-historische en genealogische waarde; wegens materiaalgebruik en kenmerkende vormgeving.

Description
Urn monument of cream-coloured limestone, approximately 1.90 m wide and 2.10 m deep, whose more than 2 metre high half-round rear wall has a flat roof that projects forward in the centre and is here provided with the family name in strikingly designed letters. At the front on the half-height side walls stands an expressively designed sculpture: on the left a kneeling female figure symbolising grief, on the right a woman surrounded by tolling bells as a symbol of joy. The rear wall is executed on the inside as a six-sided urn wall with six sealed urn niches at the top, four such urn niches in the row below, and below this two likewise sealed niches. The front plate of each urn niche is secured by a bolted copper plate in the form of a downward-pointing arrow in which the name of the deceased is cut out as well as the date and place of birth and death. On the floor in the urn monument lie irregularly shaped floor tiles.
Valuation
The grave monument is of general importance for its cultural-historical value as a characteristic and well-preserved urn monument from the interwar period on the Westerveld cemetery; for its funeral-historical and genealogical value; for its material use and distinctive design.
