Omschrijving
Het TOEGANGSHEK, behorend bij de Joodse begraafplaats bestaat uit twee in baksteen uitgevoerde hekpijlers, met hiertussen een in ijzer uitgevoerd dubbel draaihek. Dit hek heeft vertikale spijlen met eenvoudige speerpunten, die bijeengehouden worden door horizontale regels. De middelste regel heeft een in- en uitzwenkende vorm. De hekpijlers bezitten gemetselde bekroningen in de vorm van een vierzijdig tentdak. Aan de voorzijde zijn deze kolommen voorzien van een hardstenen plaat waarop in reliëfletters in het Hebreeuws en in Romeins schrift teksten en jaartallen zijn aangebracht. Links staat in Romeins schrift `Ezechiël XXXVII' met hieronder de geciteerde tekst in het Hebreeuws. Rechts is `Jesaja XXVI: 19' te lezen en het jaartal 5628 (=1868).

Description
The ACCESS GATE, belonging to the Jewish cemetery, consists of two gate pillars constructed in brick, between which is a double revolving gate executed in iron. This gate has vertical bars with simple spearheads, which are held together by horizontal rails. The middle rail has an in- and outswinging form. The gate pillars have mortared crownings in the form of a four-sided tent roof. On the front these columns are provided with a sandstone plate on which texts and dates in relief letters in Hebrew and Roman script are applied. On the left is 'Ezekiel XXXVII' in Roman script with below it the cited text in Hebrew. On the right is 'Isaiah XXVI: 19' to be read and the date 5628 (=1868).
