Inleiding.
HEILIG HARTBEELD met knielende figuren. Het beeld werd opgericht door enkele parochianen ter herinnering aan het 25-jarig herderschap van pastoor Der Kinderen in 1927. De ontwerper van het beeld was Dorus Hermsen; de uitvoerder Aloys de Beule. Het zandstenen beeld is opgetrokken in onder meer van de Neo-Gotiek afgeleide vormen. Het beeld bevindt zich aan de zuidzijde van een driehoekig grasveld onder hoge beplanting van Amerikaanse eiken. Het beeld is in compositie een afgeleide van het uit 1925 daterende en door dezelfde kunstenaars ontworpen en vervaardigd Heilig Hartbeeld aan het Emmaplein in Den Bosch.
Omschrijving.
Driedelig hardstenen basement op een betonnen voet. Beeld op een bewerkte stenen sokkel van circa 1,5 meter hoog. Op deze sokkel bevinden zich verschillende in reliëf aangebrachte opschriften. Verder is op de sokkel een op de voorzijde en de hoeken een sierrand met bladmotieven in reliëf aangebracht. Het opschrift met de opdracht is centraal aan de voorzijde aangebracht: "ter eere van de koning der liefde werd Ao Di 1927 ter herdenking van het 25 jarig herderschap van pastoor Der Kinderen dit monument opgericht door de dankbare parochianen". De compositie van het eigenlijke beeld is sterk frontaal gericht en is driehoekig van opzet. Het centrum wordt gevormd door een staande, bebaarde, blootvoetse en van een bronzen nimbus voorziene Christusfiguur, gekleed in een lang geplooid gewaad met een mantel die door een hartvormige sluiting bijeen wordt gehouden. Zijn armen zijn iets geopend en de handen worden zegenend gehouden boven de hoofden van enkele aan zijn voeten geknielde figuren. Onder zijn rechterhand is dat een in een jurk geklede vrouw met kind op de arm. De vrouw draagt eenvoudige klompen en heeft op haar hoofd een Brabantse poffer. Onder de linkerhand van Christus is een eenvoudig geklede boer met een ploeg onder zijn linkerarm en een muts in de rechterhand weergegeven. Hij heeft halfhoge werkschoenen aan. De onderzijde van de ploeg vormt tevens een verbinding tussen de beide geklede figuren en sluit de onderzijde van de beeldcompositie af. Aan de rechter zijkant en achterzijde van het beeld wordt de compositie afgesloten door een bijeen gebonden korenschoof.
Waardering.
Het Heilig Hart beeld is van algemeen belang vanwege de hoge cultuurhistorische waarde die het heeft als bijzondere uitdrukking van een geestelijke en sociaal-economische ontwikkeling. Tevens is het beeld van belang vanwege de hoge kunsthistorische kwaliteit, de ongebruikelijke iconografie met boerenfamilie en vanwege de plaats die het inneemt binnen het oeuvre van de Bossche schilder D. Hermsen en de beeldhouwer A. de Beule.

HOLY HEART STATUE with kneeling figures. The statue was erected by several parishioners in memory of the 25-year pastorate of Pastor Der Kinderen in 1927. The designer of the statue was Dorus Hermsen; the craftsman was Aloys de Beule. The sandstone statue is constructed using forms derived from Neo-Gothic among others. The statue is located on the south side of a triangular grassy field under tall plantings of American oaks. The statue is in composition a derivative of the Holy Heart statue dating from 1925 and designed and made by the same artists at the Emmaplein in Den Bosch.
Description.
Three-part ashlar basement on a concrete base. Statue on a worked stone plinth approximately 1.5 metres high. On this plinth there are various inscriptions applied in relief. Furthermore, on the plinth an ornamental border with leaf motifs in relief has been applied on the front and corners. The inscription with the dedication is centrally placed on the front: "to the honour of the king of love was in the year of our Lord 1927 in commemoration of the 25 year pastorate of Pastor Der Kinderen this monument erected by the grateful parishioners". The composition of the actual statue is strongly frontally oriented and is triangular in layout. The centre is formed by a standing, bearded, barefoot Christ figure provided with a bronze nimbus, dressed in a long pleated garment with a cloak held together by a heart-shaped clasp. His arms are slightly open and his hands are held in blessing over the heads of several figures kneeling at his feet. Under his right hand is a woman dressed in a dress with child in her arms. The woman wears simple clogs and has a Brabantine cap on her head. Under the left hand of Christ is depicted a simply dressed farmer with a plough under his left arm and a cap in his right hand. He wears mid-height work shoes. The underside of the plough also forms a connection between both clothed figures and closes off the lower side of the statue composition. On the right side and rear of the statue the composition is closed off by a bound sheaf of grain.
Valuation.
The Holy Heart statue is of general importance because of the high cultural-historical value it has as a particular expression of a spiritual and socio-economic development. Furthermore, the statue is important because of the high artistic-historical quality, the unusual iconography with farming family and because of the place it occupies within the oeuvre of the Den Bosch painter D. Hermsen and the sculptor A. de Beule.
