Inleiding
Voormalige SLAGERIJ met WINKEL en WOONHUIS gelegen in de gesloten straatwand van de Brugstraat. Het pand is gebouwd XIXB in Negentiende-eeuws Traditionele stijl gedeeltelijk met neo-Classicistische invloeden.
Omschrijving
De voormalige SLAGERIJ heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond in twee bouwlagen onder een half schilddak met rode muldenpannen.
Het pand heeft een opstand in kruisverband. In de gevels bevinden zich rechthoekige houten kozijnen met rechthoekig of segmentboogvormig bovenlicht met glas-in-lood.
De VOORGEVEL is symmetrisch van opbouw en heeft in de eerste bouwlaag twee rechthoekige houten paneeldeuren met niet orgineel glas-in-lood en bovenlichten met niet orgineel glas-in-lood. De sluitstenen in de rollaag met kop. Tussen de deuren bevindt zich een groot rechthoekig winkelraam met segmentboogvormig bovenlicht eveneens met niet orgineel glas-in-lood. Boven het winkelraam een sluitsteen met koeienkop. Het venster en de deuren worden omlijst door vier hardstenen pilasters met cannelures. De architraaf, de kroonlijst en het fronton zijn ook van hardsteen. Boven de pilaster bevinden zich kleine Joodse afbeeldingen van de jaargetijden. Het timpaan, de fries en de gedeelten boven de segmentbogen zijn bekleed met tegeltjes in beige en bruin. Achter de rechterdeur bevindt zich een gang naar de achtertuin, waardoor de dieren werden geleid. Via een schuifdeur in de gang is de slagerij te bereiken.
De tweede laag heeft geglazuurde baksteen in kruisverband met hardsteen speklagen en drie dubbele kozijnen met glas-in-lood bovenlicht met doorlopende lijst boven en onder de vensters. De rondboog vulstukken hebben tegeltableaus in geel, blauw, rood en wit. Aan weerszijden van de vensters bevinden zich vier hoofden als consoles onder lisenen. Tussen de lisenen bevinden zich bloktand- en erboven muizentanddecoraties.
De ACHTERGEVEL heeft geheel een opstand van baksteen in kruisverband. De kozijnen van de vensters en de achterdeur in de eerste laag zijn gewijzigd, waardoor een deel van gevel is dicht gemetseld. In de tweede laag bevinden zich dubbele vensters met roedeverdeling en segmentboog bovenlichten met orgineel glas-in-lood. Per bouwlaag zijn drie balkankers te zien. In de topgevel bevinden zich twee kleine vierkante vensters en vier balkankers. Onder het pand is een grote kelder aanwezig, deze is te bereiken via een trap met luik in de achtertuin.
Tegen de achtergevel staat het dak met groot overstek op houten consoles van de STALLEN en de KEUKEN. Deze volumes van één bouwlaag zijn wit geschilderd en hebben een zadeldak. In de langsgevel bevinden zich drie deuren van verschillend formaat.
De STRUCTUUR van het INTERIEUR is hoge mate in tact. WAARDEVOLLE INTERIEURONDERDELEN zijn o.a. de winkel en het trappenhuis.
Waardering
De SLAGERIJ met winkel en woonhuis bezit cultuurhistorische waarden als bijzondere uitdrukking van de typologische ontwikkeling van slagerijen in de negentiende eeuw. De architectuurhistorische waarden worden bepaald door de hoogwaardige esthetische kwaliteiten van het ontwerp, het bijzonder materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek met name van de voorgevel. De slagerij id. bezit ensemblewaarden vanwege de betekenis voor het aanzien van een stad Roermond en is van belang wegens de architectonische gaafheid van ex- en interieur mede in relatie tot de visuele gaafheid van de stedelijke omgeving. Verder is het pand van belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische en typologische zeldzaamheid. Former BUTCHERY with SHOP and DWELLING HOUSE located in the closed street frontage of Brugstraat. The building was built second half of the 19th century in Nineteenth-century Traditional style partially with neo-Classical influences.

The former BUTCHERY has a rectangular floor plan in two storeys under a half-hipped roof with red pantiles.
The building has a frontage in Flemish bond. In the facades are rectangular wooden window frames with rectangular or segmental arch fanlight with leaded glass.
The FRONT FACADE is symmetrical in composition and has in the first storey two rectangular wooden panelled doors with non-original leaded glass and fanlights with non-original leaded glass. The keystones in the roll-moulding with head. Between the doors is a large rectangular shop window with segmental arch fanlight likewise with non-original leaded glass. Above the shop window a keystone with cow head. The window and doors are framed by four sandstone pilasters with fluting. The architrave, the cornice and the pediment are also of sandstone. Above the pilaster are small Jewish depictions of the seasons. The tympanum, the frieze and the sections above the segmental arches are covered with small tiles in beige and brown. Behind the right door is a passage to the back garden, through which the animals were led. Via a sliding door in the passage the butchery is to be reached.
The second storey has glazed brick in Flemish bond with sandstone brickwork courses and three double window frames with leaded glass fanlight with continuous moulding above and below the windows. The round arch spandrels have tile tableaus in yellow, blue, red and white. On either side of the windows are four heads as consoles under pilaster strips. Between the pilaster strips are block tooth and above mouse tooth decorations.
The REAR FACADE has throughout a frontage of brick in Flemish bond. The window frames and the rear door in the first storey have been altered, as a result part of the facade is built up. In the second storey are double windows with glazing bars and segmental arch fanlights with original leaded glass. Per storey three balcony anchors are visible. In the gable top are two small square windows and four balcony anchors. Beneath the building is a large cellar, this is to be reached via a stair with hatch in the back garden.
Against the rear facade stands the roof with large overhang on wooden consoles of the STABLES and the KITCHEN. These volumes of one storey are painted white and have a gabled roof. In the long side are three doors of different size.
The STRUCTURE of the INTERIOR is to a high degree intact. VALUABLE INTERIOR COMPONENTS include amongst others the shop and the stairwell.
