Inleiding.
Het KOETSHUIS uit 1863 in Traditionaal-Ambachtelijke stijl ligt ten noorden van het woonhuis en evenwijdig daaraan. Het is daarmee verbonden door een ommuurde binnenplaats.
Omschrijving.
Het eenlaags bouwwerk onder zadeldak, belegd met opnieuw verbeterde Hollandse pannen, is gebouwd op rechthoekig grondplan met schuine voorzijde en is opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen. De tuitgevels zijn voorzien van vlechtingen. In de tuitgevel aan de voorzijde is een rondboogvenster aangebracht. Het oorspronkelijke laadluik onder rondboog op de verdieping is omstreeks 1997 doorgetrokken tot maaiveldniveau en voorzien van een glazen pui. De gevel die naar de binnenplaats is gericht heeft in het voormalig stalgedeelte een tweetal gemetselde korfbogen, waarvan de rechter bij de ingebruikneming als gemeentehuis in 1881 is geblindeerd en omstreeks 1997 weer opengemaakt, en nu toegang geeft tot de nieuwe aanbouw. In het voormalig woongedeelte is een deur onder gemetselde rondboog aangebracht met ter rechterzijde een zesruits schuifraam. In de tuitgevel aan de achterzijde is een klein vierkant raam geplaatst.
In het woongedeelte is nog de oorspronkelijke schouw aanwezig, met daarnaast de -inmiddels gedempte- waterput. Onder het woongedeelte bevindt zich de kleine, van oorsprong veertiende eeuwse kelder met tongewelf. De zoldering is omstreeks 1997 gedeeltelijk verwijderd. De nog aanwezige zolderbalken zijn oorspronkelijk.
Waardering.
Het koetshuis is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als onderdeel van een complex met een prominente plaats op de markt en in de geschiedenis van de plaats, dat karakteristiek is voor de rol van notabelen in de vroegmoderne dorpsgemeenschap. Het heeft bouwhistorische waarde vanwege de aanwezige kelder. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven en betrekkelijk zeldzaam.

The single-storey building under a gabled roof, covered with newly improved Dutch tiles, is built on a rectangular ground plan with sloping front facade and is constructed of machine-made brick. The spout gables are provided with wattling. In the spout gable at the front a round-arched window is fitted. The original loading hatch under round arch on the upper level was extended around 1997 to ground level and provided with a glazed door. The gable facing the courtyard has in the former stable section two masonry corbel arches, the right one of which was blocked at the time of commissioning as a town hall in 1881 and reopened around 1997, and now provides access to the new extension. In the former residential section a door under masonry round arch is fitted with a six-pane sash window to its right. In the spout gable at the rear a small square window is placed.
In the residential section the original chimney is still present, next to it the – now filled-in – well. Below the residential section lies the small, originally fourteenth-century cellar with barrel vault. The ceiling was partially removed around 1997. The still-present loft beams are original.
Valuation.
The coachhouse is of general interest. It has cultural-historical value as part of a complex with a prominent position on the market and in the history of the place, which is characteristic of the role of notables in the early modern village community. It has building-historical value because of the existing cellar. It has been well preserved and is relatively rare.
